My embroidery: the time spent on long journeys-, buses, planes, airports, moving country and trying not to use my phone. Everyday when I wake up I celebrate not having children with joy. However, maybe it’s time for me to get grandchildren.

Recently@carmelolita and I had the honor of
going to the V&A storehouse @vam_east to deliver 7 hard copies of Girlcore party flyers that are now part of the V&A collections. By doing so Girlcore has entered the vaults of British culture; we are now catalogued! I also designed all the flyers and can’t believe that they will be archived at the V&A alongside mummies and renaissance vases.
Girlcore was a music and art collective founded by roughly 10 girls in 2007 that surfaced from our need to create a platform where we could have fun and express ourselves in various art forms, in a context where women were hardly seen leading those scenes. Probably these days we would be a called “queer collective “?
We had a monthly party in (then) cool shoreditch at Catch and also toured around Europe , hosting parties in Barcelona Paris Moscow Athens… Our parties were free, everyone was welcome and we never had a guest list. We collaborated in art projects with a lot of people, we made out with each other, we had endless fun and learned a lot from one another.Personally I learned from Girlcore that friendships, party culture and art could be the inclusive framing structure I needed to manifest myself politically. I love us dearly.
