On stage and in classrooms, Juilliard actors give powerful performances, collaborating with inspiring directors to bring the words of distinguished writers to life, including new works written by fellows in school’s the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program. The McClelland Drama Theater season features fourth-year actors in plays that give them the opportunity to stretch and showcase their abilities, while the third-year actors make their Drama Theater debut in April.

Highlights of our 2026–27 season include repertory by living legends Lucinda Childs, Alonzo King, and alum Robert Battle and world premieres by Bessie Award–winning duo Baye & Asa; Guggenheim choreographic fellow Rosie Herrera; Justin Peck, resident choreographer for New York City Ballet; and Caili Quan, Juilliard Arnhold Creative Associate and former BalletX dancer.

We’re approaching the end of the semester! Our commencement ceremony will be held Friday, May 22 (tune in via livestream), and we invite you to celebrate throughout the week leading up to our grads’ big day with a series of free and low-cost performances featuring graduating Music, Dance, and Preparatory students as well as the Juilliard and Pre-College orchestras.

Chamber ensembles of graduating Juilliard students celebrate commencement and the close of the school year with an exuberant performance of short works and selections from longer works.

The Juilliard Orchestra performs at Alice Tully Hall under the baton of JoAnn Falletta, featuring the world premiere of alum Paola Prestini’s “My Brilliant Friend: The Story of a New Name,” plus works by Respighi and Ravel.

The Pre-College Orchestra presents “Beyond the Stars: Music of Film and Imagination” featuring music by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Michael Abels, Strauss, and "Adventures on Earth” from John Williams’ score for “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.”

Break a leg to the cast and crew of “Flock” on opening night! 🐦⬛ Based on Farid ud-Din Attar’s 12th-century poem “The Conference of the Birds,” a flock journeys through the hills and valleys of the human spirit as they navigate suffering, doubt, and the challenge of how to move forward while staying together.

Journey through the hills and valleys of the human spirit in “Flock,” the final production of the Juilliard Drama season. 🐦⬛
Directed by faculty member Ellen Lauren, “Flock” follows as a group comes together to embark on a journey in search of enlightenment. Based on the 12th-century Persian poem “The Conference of the Birds” by Farid ud-Din Attar and modernized by playwright Amlin Gray to incorporate urgent messages for today’s audiences, the play follows the flock as they navigate suffering, doubt, and the challenge of how to move forward while staying together.

Relive the most exciting moments from Tianjin Juilliard’s residency in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area! Bringing together faculty, graduate students, alumni, and guest artists, we presented performances, master classes, workshops, and a range of other events across the region.
From March 23 to 29, Xinghai Concert Hall presented a week-long Spring Music Festival in Guangzhou. On March 30, Juilliard and Tianjin Juilliard presented “The World Stage: Juilliard and the Global Language of Music” at Asia Society Hong Kong Center (@asiasocietyhk). On March 31, Tianjin Juilliard presented “One World, One Juilliard” at the Hong Kong Palace Museum Museum (@hongkongpalacemuseum), concluding the first Greater Bay Area residency.
