On Saturday, June 14th, people showed up by the thousands at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in Nashville to protest Trump’s military birthday parade.
This was one in a series of many simultaneous “No Kings” protests throughout the country.
The general feeling was electric, but throughout the entire event it also carried a sense of fatigue. This electricity was the result of a lot of friction these past few months. ICE raids, fractured international relations, domestically deployed military, bribery jets and a 45 million dollar birthday parade, the people are tired.
But from kids to seniors, rain or shine, they showed up, and it was peaceful.
