I get asked a lot what my favorite Boys Like Girls song is to play live……
Honestly, it changes…but there is one song that is always right up there.
As a musician, it hits on a lot for me—especially now. As a band, we’ve evolved a ton over the last 20 years. There’s more intention, more dynamics, more restraint where it matters. We’re not just playing the songs—we’re continuing to shape them.
It has a really unique framework live. The dynamics, the feel shifts, the tempo ramps—it breathes in a different way on stage.
My goal on the self-titled record was always to find my way back to that “Great Escape” drum fill or hint at it…and 20 years later we get there. This is a clip from the end of the song. “Holiday”
