This Sunday is Việt Book Fest presented by @vaalacommunity and Beanie and I are SO EXCITED to host the children’s hour with @misspeggynguyen and her new book, Zodiac Animals for Movers. Spoiler, we will be MOVING! First feature film back in America after living and producing films in Vietnam for 13 years. Started the project pregnant, had Beanie, then she attended the Việt Film Fest screening and watched the whole thing! Collaborated with longtime friend, EAST Films partner, and incredible director Bảo. First time working on an investigative doc and learner so much from Terri, Fiona, and Gary. Three journalists who truly embody integrity and kindness.

And last but certainly the most, helped bring to light the story of Chú Nghệ, who had been carrying this burden on his soul for far too long. This one was personal because I got to speak in my mother tongue, passed on by my grandparents who have passed, and have another chance to heal the past. 🙏🏼💜📸 . For those who haven’t seen The Stringer, it’s now streaming on Netflix! #emmy

✨ Jenni Trang Le co-founded EAST Films to empower visionary storytellers to excel in the global entertainment market. She spent 13 years producing feature films in Vietnam, is now based in California, and continues to uplift and inspire her community through film.

💖Her biggest and most important project to date is mama to Beanie, who can pretty much always be found by her side at all events. As a former VAALA board member and longtime supporter, Jenni is thrilled to be part of this year’s Việt Book Fest.
