"Your boos are not scaring me! I know most of you are not ghosts!"
It only took like 20 years but I finally have a hosting reel. Please keep me in mind for all your events, Q&As, and Bar Mitzvahes!
So many great memories - so much I had forgotten - and so much I couldn't include. Acting with Tom Hiddleston, singing with Hugh Jackman, staring in awe at Denzel Washington... this was a really fun trip down memory lane.
Also if you need a reel you cannot beat @benjamin_rock who combed through so much footage and endured my constant tweaks.

I could try and play it cool but fuck it. I’m sitting next to one of the all-time greatest filmmakers. And I managed not to turn into that Chris Farley sketch where I just keep telling him how awesome he is.
Wasn’t sure this really happened so I’m glad there seems to be photographic evidence. Was asked to moderate an opening weekend Q&A for the fantastic film KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON in IMAX with none other than Martin Scorsese at the iconic @chinesetheatres
I barely even told anyone because I was so scared to jinx it. In fact, I canceled most of my plans for Friday and didn’t even want to leave the house just to be safe. You have never seen a more cautious driver than me on my way from home to the theater.
I was lucky enough to interview @martinscorsese_ 21 years ago for GANGS OF NEW YORK and remember what a kind, generous, funny soul he was then and that hasn’t changed. He was so gracious with everyone and so determined to get this story right. At one point, the film was more about the FBI investigation into the Osage murders and even though they had a script and it was greenlit, he stopped everything and rewrote it to focus on the Osage people and the love story between his two lead characters. I could go on and on about what his work means to me, but I know we all feel that way. I don’t remember much of what I said, other than that I’m a big fan of his daughter, as well. If you aren’t following @francesca.scorsese - get on that.
Thanks to an amazing, packed crowd filled with cinema and Scorsese fans. I did show him the shirt one person was wearing with his face all over it. He laughed and said he needed to order one for his daughter.

What a long, STRANGER journey it’s been over the last 10 years watching the cast and crew of STRANGER THINGS go from the little show that came out of nowhere to a global phenomenon. For this week’s Q&A I dug out the space dress I wore to my very first Q&A with David Harbour back in 2017 and some other ones that showcase the passing years, my fluctuating weight, and the wild ride this group took us on. Sadly, a lot of the group shots are lost to time (or to photo orgs I’m no longer licensed with LOL) but I did find a few from each season. I've aways been bad at keeping photos so if anyone has better ones, please let me know!
New convo coming soon to @sagaftrafound and it’s a great one - loved that stunt coordinator Hiro Koda was included and he joked about letting the stunts get more and more complex over the years. When David Harbour tried to say he can’t fight like he used to, I pointed out, “You’re an Avenger!” To which he responded, “Yeah, the fattest Avenger!” He then joked about how he never got action roles in his 20s and now in his 50s people are casting him as Swole Santa and other action heroes.
Jamie Campbell Bower talked about trying to look intimidating as Vecna “in a leotard” and the 8 hours of makeup he took on. And a lovely shout out to Barb - casting director Carmen Cuba let us know she just cast something with Shannon Purser in it!!

Oh my God. At last week’s LILITH FAIR: BUILDING A MYSTERY Q&A I was admiring EP Cassidy Hartmann’s necklace when she told me it was a gift from Sarah McLachlan - it’s actually Lilith herself! I didn’t even realize!
Today I received this gorgeous necklace from @pyrrhajewelry, a Vancouver-based sustainable jewelry company with a Zero Carbon studio. I am beyond chuffed.
You can buy one on their online store and $100 from each one sold will be donated to the not-for-profit Sarah McLachlan School of Music, which “provides free music education to more than 2,000 children and youth each year who face financial, social, or emotional barriers to access.”

My God the hundreds of years of acting experience on this stage (not including me, though my performance in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS remains legendary i my mind.)
THE BOROUGHS showrunner Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews have literally made a show for me - sci-fi horror in a retirement community with some of my favorite actors. @thehitchingghost @willthematthews
And the stories...
Alfred Molina's first time as #1 on a call sheet. #alfredmolina
Geena Davis and Bill Pullman reunited on screen for the third time after ACCIDENTAL TOURIST and A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN. @geenadavis #billpullman
Denis O'Hare and Clarke Peters sharing a house in Albuquerque. @ohdenis @clarkepetersofficial
Alfre Woodard and Clarke Peters and Bill Pullman in a love triangle!
Jena Malone on usually being the most experienced person (30+ years) on a set but loving being with actors having 50+ years. @jenamalone
Carlos Miranda still processing he's doing love scenes with Geena Davis ("that's my boo!") @los_cain
Seth Numrich and Alice Kremelberg on bringing humor, depth, and humanity to their very weird antagonists (I won't say more, you have to watch.) @sethnumrich @alicekremelberg
#theboroughs from the @dufferbrothres @upsidedownpictures hits @netflix May 21.

Photo evidence I was allowed within 20 yards of Sarah McLachlan - a dream for 13-year-old me (and, honestly, current me.) The wonderful documentary “Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery” is now streaming on Hulu and even if you think you know the story behind the festival, you probably aren’t aware of what was really going on behind the scenes. Even if you think its not your kind of music, you are going to get swept up in the infuriating, inspiring story brought to you by McLachlan, director Ally Pankiw, producer Dan Levy and EP Cassidy Hartmann. Read all about how McLachlan made everyone cry at https://jenelleriley.substack.com/p/sarah-mclachlan-lilith-fair

With the current films out and Scott Rudin back on Broadway and just turning on the news, I’m reminded every damn day how rampant abusers are. Particularly working in this business where such behavior is not only allowed, but seemingly encouraged.
And while I believe in forgiveness and rehabilitation and honest reflection, I am less concerned about second chances for abusers than for their victims who were blackballed, lost their love for the business, or sent to the ER by such abuse.
Often it can feel hopeless and overwhelming ... which is why I’m happy @sarahannmasse has launched@hiresurvivorshollywood an organization that offers actionable, practical steps the help survivors. This means such tangible items as an Entertainment Industry Toolkit to a Survivor Talent Database to free media training and resource guides to helping victims. Had to up my dress game to speak with the great about her funny, thoughtful, beloved work on and it’s a conversation every actor should see.
She spoke about her own personal style, how her character’s costumes function as a type of “mask," and how important it is to create a welcoming set.
I first recall seeing Carrie 25 years ago in WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGIINA WOOLF and was so taken by her charm and humor and talent. She has regularly come in and killed every role, big or small - she steals DUPLICITY from Julia Roberts and Clive Owen with a single scene. So happy that we get to see her on a weekly basis with @elsbethcbs @sagaftrafound
