A pantry cupboard. A kitchen staple for good reason.

There’s something deeply satisfying about keeping everything in one considered, easy to reach place. Dry goods, spices, tins, morning essentials, all quietly organised behind closed doors.

Better still when bulky appliances can disappear from the worktop too, with integrated electrics tucked neatly away inside.

Inside our Lewes High Street showroom. An actual working kitchen where you can open doors, try appliances and see the craftsmanship firsthand.

It’s an ambitious idea: one room to capture everything we do at Inglis Hall - or at least the essence of it. An impossible task, perhaps, but the space doesn’t overwhelm. Whilst you will find our most popular materials, traditional techniques, and beautiful details. More than anything, you’ll feel a sense of balance. A natural flow where everything belongs. A space that feels like it could easily be yours.

Our doors are open Tuesday to Friday 10am - 4pm | Monday and Saturdays by appointment.

You may have already admired these towering larder cupboards in Jay Osgerby’s impressive ‘The Sticks’ project, but their story began somewhere far less distinguished.

They were inspired by simple makers cabinets. Built for the workshop. Designed to bring order to tools, materials and the everyday clutter of making. Nothing more, or so we thought.

It was Jay who first saw their potential. What followed was a fascinating process of reimagining them for domestic life. Every detail - right down to the perfectly curved handle profile - considered, drawn, tested, refined and refined again.

There’s a common misconception with heritage homes that every detail must faithfully replicate the past. We disagree.

The most successful spaces aren’t frozen in time. They allow old and new to sit comfortably beside one another. A modern Quooker tap, in the right finish, can feel entirely at home beneath historic windows.

In these homes, materials matter.
Natural over synthetic. Textured over glossy. Pieces with warmth, depth and restraint.

When chosen carefully, contemporary elements don’t disrupt a period home. They allow it to keep evolving gracefully.

From plans to the workshop to the final reveal.

A family kitchen for an extended Victorian red-brick terrace in Brighton, shaped by owners with a clear vision and a love for mid-century design.

Rich stained oak established the base note. Deep, steady, and warm. Grain running in sequence to keep the eye traveling. Then Bianco Male Fenix for the counterpoint. A matte, light-absorbing surface with a silky touch and a durable core. It resists fingerprints. Forgiving the day-to-day and bringing light into the room without shine.

A palette built on contrast, restraint and material honesty. Modern, but entirely at ease within the character of the house.

The art of handmade.

Walk in on any morning and you’ll hear it before you see it. The low thrum of machines, the soft rasp of tools against wood, band-sawn oak stacked and marked. This is our workshop, just outside Lewes, where every Inglis Hall kitchen is made.

A place steeped in traditional craftsmanship, reimagined with a modern sensibility.

Step into The Granary.

A small kitchen designed with purpose. Lift-up cabinets tucked neatly between windows and ceiling, a slimline pull-out and fluted glass crockery cupboard. Storage that sits quietly. Nothing to distract from the beautiful light flooding in.

Kitchen cupboards can take many forms, like this sliding door oak storage neatly nestled into a little alcove.

The perfect fit. Both in size, style and function.

That’s what bespoke means to us. It’s not about slotting in standard cupboards, but designing for the space - considering the light, the architectural details, the character of the room, and, most importantly, the way you live in it.

How do you like to cook? It’s one of the first questions we ask when starting a project. A kitchen, after all, is more than just a room - it’s where your rituals unfold.

This simple question shapes everything. Do you prefer sleek integrated ovens or the charm of a range? Are you a keen baker and need a cool service for rolling dough? Always the host? A big fridge is a must, perhaps a pantry cupboard, or even a dedicated space for your pickling and preserving adventures.

Once we understand how you live, we design a kitchen that doesn’t just look beautiful but works beautifully too. It’s about making the everyday effortless.

Our ethos is buy once, buy better.

Putting the craft back into contemporary kitchens means working with real, high-quality materials, and making things properly. It’s what allows us to guarantee our cabinetry for life.

To us, it’s the obvious way of combating a throwaway culture. Build kitchens that last, improve with age, and don’t rely on trends.

True style is timeless.

A pleasure to work alongside @studio.163 on this three-storey terrace in Kentish Town.
