Bronze-graded Brendan Iribe started Saturday’s 100-minute race for the #70 Inception Racing Ferrari 296, enjoying a clean start and an impressive stint, handing over the Ferrari to co-driver Fred Schandorff with just over an hour remaining. Schandorff joined the race tenth of the 16 remaining GTD cars, only for a Full Course Yellow call to swiftly follow.

Fred went on to set the second quickest lap time of the race, and he kept his elbows out during his 43-lap stint of the 1.968-mile Southern Californian Street Circuit - making an exceptional pass down the inside of AO Racing’s Roxy into Turn 6.

What’s most impressive is that when crunching the data and looking at the lap times across the entire GTD field, Fred was the fastest - consistently.

Fred took the chequered flag 13th overall, fourth in GTD - and first in GTD Bronze, rewarding him and Brendan with their first Bob Akin Award of the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

Well… it was (really) good while it lasted.

The racing, the fans, the weather - did we mention the racing? Alas, you can have too much of a good thing.

A squeeky-clean start, lightning pace, and a series of flawless strategy calls, meant we were running third from the GTD class as we approached quarter-distance in Sebring.

Unfortunately, despite having all the ingredients to succeed here in Sebring, the No. 70 Inception Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo received race-curtailing damage after finding itself in the path of one of the GTP field following a spin.

With Brendan, Ollie, and Fred having completed their initial stints, it was Iribe holding the reins of the Prancing Horse when the Ferrari 296 lost downforce due to passing GTP cars and spun going into Turn 13. Unfortunate timing for Iribe meant the front end of the Ferrari was then clattered by the #25 BMW GTP car.

Plan A was, naturally, to replace the front-end and engage in an epic fightback, but ultimately, irreparable chassis damage decided our fate.
