Very conscious about having left you all on read in 2025 🙈 it truly was a year of introspection, grieving, releasing and shedding (🐍) but also a year of so many amazing, new and refreshing experiences like when I went to Portugal to try out surfing and watched this wonderful sunset 🌅 Year of the fire horse has most definitely been intens so far but I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been up to. A lesson I’ve learnt about love is that it’s not love when it means we have to betray ourselves to keep it, and that love isn’t worth sacrificing our mental health for (of course things can be tough sometimes but I hope you get what I mean). This song is about taking all that love we have given to people that either didn’t deserve it, couldn’t hold space for it, didn’t want it or whatever the situation of unrequited love was, back and pour into our own cup. I don’t believe we need to be fully healed or even love ourselves fully in order to be worthy or deserving of love. We are all inherently worthy of love. But loving ourselves does help when it comes to choosing ourselves and act in ways that show ourselves love and respect, even when it’s difficult.
