This weekend I got to do one of my favorite things in the whole world, a sketch comedy festival. New on the scene @sketchfest_chicago (produced by amazing people includingformer @dcsketchfest producer @bobbycohoat ) was an absolute home run.

Festivals are a core part of my sketch comedy experience and have been for the last 10 years. It was 9.5 years ago when I first saw @cameron_wyllie perform and witnessed just how elevated sketch comedy could be as an art form. He did things and still does thing I’ve never seen before and I have pushed myself to do those things ever since.

I’ve made amazing friends through sketch comedy all around the US and Canada that I get to see at these festivals. @mapledaddies , @sweetandysour , @vivlmao , @the_better_binness_bros , @jackiebskinner , @avillasenora , @bigilo_bobolo , @sarageigster , and @5onthe5 were all there this weekend and it is so fun to be able to see what they are making and celebrate them.

There was also an incredible showing for DC teams in Chicago. My own team @badmedicinedc had a great show, but seeing the work that @chapscomedy , @motherspouch , @the.rens.sketch , and @graceandthegang made me so proud of the scene I’m in and how far in has come in ten years.

I also got to see acts that inspired me to work harder and create more. @boxlionleo and his team A Lot of Things showed me new things and reminded me how much is possible in sketch comedy and how much room for innovation there always is.

Festivals are a cauldron of creativity and I am so lucky that I have gotten to perform and watch so many. Thank you to this entire community for being an endless source of joy and inspiration.
