We have been fortunate to get some great interns through @thefoundrylnk - including Nayla Torres Ruiz, to whom we said goodbye this morning. Nayla was extremely helpful with our Nebraska Forum on Global Issued program this spring. She’s leaving us with solid materials that will help us introduce this valuable program to more high schoolers in the future.

What if you could hear history as it happened?

Step behind the camera for a snapshot of our country’s history through the lens of the music that paints great American moments in time. Float in the harbor with Frances Scott Key as you watch the bombing of Fort McHenry, experience Julia Ward Howe’s angst on the eve of a Civil War battle, or climb to the top of Pike’s Peak with Katherine Lee Bates.

Join us in Eagle this Wednesday!

Nebraska’s invaluable contributions to the world of thoroughbred horse racing began with ordinary individuals who honed their talents on and around the state’s racecourses to later achieve extraordinary feats in the national “Sport of Kings”.

Coming up this Monday! Nebraska has not only a rich tradition in literature but also a rich, less-publicized tradition in music. This program tells the stories of the people who came to and through early Nebraska, the pioneers who crossed the overland trails, the settlers and the Native Americans.

Join us in Ansley this Sunday! With over 352,000 emigrants traveling the Oregon, Mormon or California trails, one in five were under the age of 16. Many of these youths kept journals. This program discusses how these children traveled and relates some of the stories from their journals. This program is appropriate for all ages.
