Uncertainty. It was a word that weighed heavy in the ether when we put out the first version of this record, The Will To Weather The Storm, back in April 2020.

I’m not sure things are more certain now. I’m not sure that anything is better, or less scary, or lighter. Life definitely doesn’t seem easier.

But for me, @quietparade has always been a place where I could work through Big Feelings. Over the last 20 years, this band (and the people who have surrounded me to bring its music to life) has helped me process grief, anger, sadness, love, nostalgia, fear, malaise, and my fair share of existential crises. At my most world sick, I do find moments solace in the process and in the performance.

Six years after releasing a record we were so proud of into a universe that felt like it was collapsing, we attempt to resurrect this work to give it a second life. The Will To Weather Another Storm is a Deluxe LP front-loaded with 4 new songs we created in non-lockdown times, teaming up with our friends @palmerjamieson, @future.dad.music, @gabpapillon and @danielledwell to capture them.

Make no mistake, the Big Feelings have not receded. You will find me waxing nostalgic about the state of oblivious grace tour life provided in our younger years (“Ghosts In The Wind”), coming to welcomed terms with recognizing you have lived through a momentous era rather than pining for a past life you know can never return (“Empire”), telling a story of two lovers destined to find their way back to each other with a lifetime of lived experience in tow (“Next Time We Love”), and grappling with the increasingly forceful push and pull between capital T truth, fear, and trust, all while searching for dramatic mystery, subtle beauty, and elusive hope (“Drawn To Secrets”).

Ever uncertain, yet unabashedly grateful to be here, doing things I love, with people I care about. This is Quiet Parade.

NEW RELEASE : @quietparade - “Next Time We Love” (Single)

A song about two lovers destined to find their way back to each other with a lifetime of lived experience in tow, Quiet Parade’s “Next Time We Love” draws heavily on the high gloss pop-rock sheen of @nadasurf_official and the songwriting arrangements of the @ginblossomsaz to nourish its structure. To capture the distinct approach, the band turned to @future.dad.music who recorded, mixed and co-produced the track.

“Next Time We Love” is part of a new collection of 4 songs that frontload The Will To Weather Another Storm, a deluxe reissue of the band’s 2020 LP, The Will To Weather The Storm.

The Deluxe LP drops on Tuesday, April 14 via Acadian Embassy and the band celebrates with a special release show at The Sanctuary Arts Centre in Dartmouth, NS on Friday, April 17. More than your average album release party, the show–billed as 20 Years of Quiet Parade–is a retrospective celebration of Quiet Parade’s entire catalogue and will feature guest appearances by former members of the band.
