We quietly closed our brick and mortar this past Sunday. I’m sorry that we didn’t announce it but I wanted to make sure that the team had the most normal last Sunday. I wanted to protect them from answering any questions about our decision to close.

It wasn’t an easy decision to make. A lot of you have followed along while we were a pop-up. You’ve watched and waited for 22 months for our shop to open and you came and hung out with us as we took up space off of SE 82nd and Powell the last 1.5 years.

We wanted to bring the community into the space, we wanted to have people come to this part of town and we believed that SE deserved for us to take a chance on it. We hope that we were able to spark some joy and show some of you a part of town that is special. Our time there was worth it because of you all.

Our chapter is over for SE 82nd but know we are not done yet… 💜. We have some really cool and exciting things for you to look forward to. But for now, we will take the rest of the year to dwell on our accomplishments and the community we’ve created and a part of! Don’t be sad, we promise that HeyDay in 2025 will be even better! We’re excited for the future and we can’t wait for you to come along the journey!

Thank you to my amazing team for pivoting, making sure I was ok and for making this transition swift and painless. You guys are the real MVPs!

We didn’t want to end this year the way we did (we’re so sorry) but it’s going to be ok. We will keep moving, pushing forward and feel extremely proud of what we have done for our community.

This is the last Tokyo post from our trip this Fall and we’ve saved the best for last.

You have heard about @coffeeelementaryschool and how much they mean to us. They have been our home away from home. We were so thrilled that this trip we did 2 pop-ups with them and this is our 6 pop-up with them in one year!!

I am so inspired when I visit them. I am so well taken care of and I get so excited about what we can do together every trip/pop-up.

This trip was extra special. My team knew that before we opened up HeyDay here, HeyDay was suppose to find its way to open in Tokyo. I dreamed of opening our first shop there but we allowed for things to happen naturally.

After this trip, @coffeeelementaryschool and @heydaypdx have committed to further our partnership to create a special place together in Tokyo sometime in 2026. Yes, we are opening shop in Tokyo!

We were so sad to have closed our brick and mortar permanently. We’re taking some time to process and grieve but looking forward to the future! HeyDay has some great things planned in 2025!!

The rest of 2026 just got brighter!

We have taken a hiatus from pop-ups because we have been busy with our wholesale partnerships but we are coming back for a little residency at MUJI Portland starting June till November!

We can’t wait to see you with cookies, milk bread, cinnamon rolls, baked doughnuts and a few other fun things we have been working on!

Excited to getting back to how we started and to see all you again in person!

This past March, I was able to take my kids to where their grandparents once called home. A place that they had to leave to save themselves from war to rebuild from nothing so that they can provide a better life for their children.

Being in Vietnam reminded me that I am a product of resiliency. Overcoming hardship and obstacles is built into my DNA.

I am sure you noticed that we have been pretty quiet this past year.

We've been working away in the background to create a new rhythm. We were allowing our team to resettle and regroup after the craziness of transition in 2025.

We have found a comfortable balance and allowing ourselves to say "no" to things we might have said yes to in the past. We wanted to focus on our small yet mightly team and our wholesale partners.

Like most of the industry, 2025 was about surviving. Beginning of 2026 was transitioning out of that and now we are heading in a season of thriving.

We are so excited for this Summer where we will be at a few fun events/markets, a pop-up residency at MUJI Portland, we are heading back to Tokyo to do a 3 day pop- up with our friends @coffeeelementaryschool and celebrating our 6 year anniversary!!

Keep an eye out for all the fun details and we can’t wait to see you with all our goodies, doughnuts and beyond!

As creatives, we lean all the way into the process. The joy has never just been the final product—it’s in the journey, the evolution, and the quiet, daily work of building something meaningful.

Thank you for being part of this nearly 6-year ride with us. I don’t take for granted that I get to live out my dream—not to chase recognition or money, but to create small, genuine moments of joy through doughnuts, bread, and everything we bake. That’s always been the heart of what we do.

We’re gearing up for a busy summer ahead and are opening two new spots for wholesale partnerships. Our calendar is also filling quickly for special events—corporate gatherings, weddings, and private parties.

Saturday 4/25 we’re bringing in our day ones to celebrate 5 years of Cà Phê!

Richard and Lisa have been rocking with me since the very beginning, from a custom Matta roast, to being part of Lisa’s iconic cà phê sữa doughnuts, to becoming her very FIRST wholesale partner. And the 3 of us birthing @memoire.caphe !!! I truly can’t thank them enough for believing in me from day one.

Richard will be outside on the grill cooking up bánh mì, and Lisa will be baking a basque ube flavor cheesecake! You can grab them together or individually.

We’ll also have a BOGO special on all specialty drinks, we’re bringing in @itsmarkoutside to curate the vibes.
