There’s one story about our Lama Ole Nydahl i keep coming back to now.
Once, arriving at his accommodation during one of his endless travels, he was about to take a shower — but there were ants on the floor of the bathroom. So he waited. Just waited, until they finished whatever they were doing and moved on. Because he simply couldn’t wash them down the drain like they were ‘nothing’.
With him, every being and each of us was noticed. Seen. Received. Complete.
And the work he’s done for his students, Tibetan Buddhism development and Dharma around the west — it has no end.
I will carry the brightest feelings and the deepest gratitude in my heart. Forever.
“Separation is technically impossible” — he always repeated.

Depths is a new luxury 🌌
When I dive deep — it’s dark, scary, confusing. I feel a tension in my chest and head. It’s hard to breathe and I want to escape to the surface as fast as possible. But in case I’m escaping – I will not learn anything, won’t get true experience.
It’s the same with depth of contact. With myself. With another.
The depth of the contact with myself is boundless. I can witness it in my therapy of subpersonalities, learning archetypes, with medicine and shamans, in Buddhism philosophy and Tantra teachings. And into (the best practice and most powerful triggered quest) close friendship/romantic relationships/partnership. They all keep showing me this. The deeper I go, the more layers I can find. And each one is more unexpected than the last. But also more true. And vulnerable.
In the depth of contact with another — I sometimes crash into the other’s boundaries and limits. Crash into a mirror where I suddenly see myself. Sometimes — I crash really hard. Scars could remain. But I always learn something new about myself and another. I find strength to see and accept. And either I stay, or I leave.
But if it’s still safe and I could stay longer, if I don’t rise back to the place where it’s light and easy to breathe — then I’ll find the real depth. And myself within it. And a closeness that’s impossible on the surface. When you’re both in this truer contact — something passes between you that cannot be put into words. Words are faded away there.
Depths is a new luxury and not for everyone. But once you get inside….
