The psychology behind pursuing a craft based on the insatiable need for validation of your life experience from other people who are in the same boat but with bigger holes is really a trip. Anyway, here’s my new reel. Some tv shows, some movies, and I’m just really grateful to be so unabashedly committed to my goals that I still put myself out there for critique and judgement. Also thankful for the folks that trust me with their words. That’s really humbling. I love acting. 🎬

I am speechless. Just learned that I won BEST ACTOR at the @cittadorofilm festival in Vienna Austria and this is what they wrote about my performance. Thank you jurors for recognizing our work. And thank you @delshores and @emersoncollins for directing TF out of this short film I wrote that became something so vulnerable and so scary to tell. Y’all supported this vision from day 1 and then you didn’t flinch when I said, “everything is changing.” My sweet, open, sexy scene partner @alexander19p held space for my chaos and allowed me to fall in love with his character so safely and so quickly. “Shafted” has been such a gift this past year seeing how audiences respond to it all over the world. But the real gift is that I get to share these accolades with other artists that I love and respect. This entire creative team allows me to do what I do. Just so freaking thankful. My acting teacher @jeffreymarcus has believed in me almost longer than anyone else in this city and has worked exhaustively to make me see something in me that I never saw myself. My friend @jgilsig helped me figure out how to tell this story when I had a breakdown over the previous inauthenticity of this script. My EP’s @stuarthowellbell, @crvttwmn, @lulupigg, and @jlaveck wrote checks to make sure I could tell this story. And the SCORES of donors that are a part of this and helped cover the enormous costs of creating a movie. Thank you thank you thank you. Love yall.

Thank you Lety, Nick, and Juan for giving me so much insight into where this play script was going. I am so thankful for creativity that allows me to process what I’ve been through the last couple years. This play serves as kind of a love letter to what I *thought* was real. When the lies and cons were discovered, I toyed with changing this play’s ending. But despite it being fraudulent, it was still my lived experience. So I kept working on this play that tells a specific story. A story that was once very real. And I’m so excited to see where this goes. And don’t worry, the real story is coming in a different medium.
