MileADayInMay… dreamed up in the chemo ward with @aoifeob … dream come true.

Yesterday evening I swam the final leg of MileADayInMay, my 155th mile. Over the years we have raised a huge amount of money for Cancer Research helping to fund amazing charities like @cr_uk @irishcancersociety @cancertrialsirl The Trinity College St James Hospital Cancer Institute and some pioneering oncologists! Thanks to @roryfitzirl for the dropping me out to the middle of Killiney Bay and to everyone who came down for the finish, it was absolutely magic to land on Killiney Beach! Big thanks to @fbmotion for the incredible support, you sir, are unreal!

Breezy… It was a mile of two halves this evening, an easy trip down to the West Pier from Seapoint to kick things off followed by a heinous up-wind battle to make it home. Fair dues @markhamnolan @tomajlyons @lynners and Tooler, we put in a very decent shift out there! Key role from @sbowers111 on paddle rescue, steering us through the mile, no joke paddling into wind & waves! 29 miles down, 2 to go!! I’ll be finishing on Killiney Beach on Friday at 6.30pm. All support v welcome!

So I got up this morning and headed west for a mile off Spanish Point in howling winds and choppy seas! @fbmotion and @oleary114 steered me through the waves and jelly fish for an epic mile! Sunrise mile this morning around K-Bay and into Coliemore Harbour with @brianstoran keeping me safe all the way. This was my 150th mile for Cancer Research! Decent whack of tide and chop out there… Good craic with the early morning mackerel fishermen going down Dalkey Sound, they are a dedicated bunch!

My annual mile with @jpsdinners is a complete inspiration, he shows, up raring to go and grinds out the distance in true JP fashion. We swam down the K-Bay coast with @jamiecrawford11 this evening finishing on Whiterock Beach. Great stuff lads! @poppy_goes_east and I had cancer at about the same time, pretty cool that we swam our fifth year of miles together today (him in Connemara). Sweet Johnny! @brianstoran aka ‘MileADayInMay’s Geldof’ led a group including @rogmcgrath and @johnoreganmusic in Galway, looks beaut!
