Lately I have been on a tree climbing expedition, climbing anything and everything that I see.
Just the feeling of being able to climb with more and more ease each and every day had been more than healing.

As a kid I was always teased and called fat or not for sports. Even now sometimes the people that I trust the most seem to plant seeds of doubts in my mind.

This has been making me realise how much I need to trust my own instincts.
Not afraid to fall, not afraid to climb.
I fell off this tree off camera once but I made it to the top.
Such is life.

Today I am posting this because I need to give due credit to coach @carlspies1010 and @westbay_bjj for changing my life. The weak, overweight and dumb kid that I was is more than proud of what I am now.

Ever since starting BJJ, I fear nothing. Fear is just a mind killer. The people at westbay are more than family to me and we help each other train to become better versions of ourselves every day.

This post was long coming. I was ashamed of myself for not getting gold. I thought I absolutely deserved gold, I trained hard for it and that I let my coach and teammates all down by not achieving that dream. I cried at the arena and I cried for days after that. But having their support is what helped me continue and look forward to as many comps as I can do before this life ends.

If anyone deserved the gold more than me it was my opponent for in that moment when it mattered the most she was the better one. I got into my head.

The key take-way from all this is that I need to appreciate my efforts. I am still proud of what I achieved and it has only made me stronger.

So keep rolling till the belt turns black! 🤓
