So I designed the set and costumes for Medea which we opened a couple over a week ago @queensland theatre.
A 2020 covid hangover projects, it is so great to finally see it make it to the stage.

I want to acknowledge some of the people who brought this one to life.

@dantotheevans our director extraordinaire, thank you for really believing in and quite litteyrally fighting for this design.

It was an honour to get to work with such an awesome creative team who took this idea, saw the possibilities and not the problems and made this world more vivid, exciting and beautiful, lighting designer Matt Scott and sound designer Mike Whilmet

Our wonderful cast for inhabiting the world with such authenticity Helen Cassid
Orlando Dunn-Mura, Felix Pearn, Jeremiah Rees and Edward Hill

To the brilliant and skilled crafts people of Queensland Theatre who brought this design to life

Workshop department Pete Sands, Tim Pierce, Chris Maddison and especially John Pierce for your fears leadership.Thank you.
The brilliant props maker / fish wrangler @Adrian Davis
scenic artist extraordinaire Leo Herrreygers

Wonderful costume department Nathalie Ryner, Barbara Kerr and Tracey Leino. Barb it was an honour to get to work with you on your last show as co ordinator for the company.

LX team Chris Goeldner, Israel Leslie and Lauren Cross and prod assist Mia Mcgavin.

Sound team Brady Watkins and Pete

SM team Maddy Penglis and Tia-hanee cleary.

Damien Tatum child chaperon / just a great support

Our fearless leader prod manager Dan Madison, for working that budget to an inch of its life to realise this design.

To the causal crew who worked an epic two days over a public holiday weekend to install this show. I am sorry I didn't learn all yournames. But I appreciate you all.

To my design mentors who offered me sound advice and support Mel Page,Anna Cordingley, Dale Ferguson and Alison Ros

To the original producing team who brought be on boardAnnette BoxAmy lngrimTara Hobbs and Tom Larkin

Christine and John Felmingham for donating the aircon unit.

Justin Harrison for 3d printing the children figurines and fan for the model box.

A pilgrimage to Poland

What an incredible week.

Ewa I genuinely cannot thank you enough for being the most generous, kind and gracious host.

I love the image that you conjured of our ancestors maybe walking the same streets together, as we did.

Getting to visit my great grandmother grave and having you by my side was so special.

Who knew when we met on that mad opera in Luxembourg a few months ago it would result in such a special experience.

The buildings in the last two images are actually only 70 years old as Warsaw was almost completely flattened after the war.
The people of the city banded together to rebuild them.

The third last image is of the street my grandfather lived on. Flattened not from bombs but the Nazis burning out the Warsaw ghetto resistance fighters.

Visiting this city made me find a new respect not only for the deep connection my ancestors had to this place but the struggles of the Polish people

I feel honoured to leave having made some deep connections and a few new friends!

I was also super excited that a mermaid is the symbol of the city.

A magical weekend in Margate with my dearest friend Owen. Somehow despite the 16,500 km between us we have managed to see each other every year since he moved to London with the exception of 2020.

Thank you so much for organising this weekend Owen!

Margate - a seaside town I can only describe as peeling paint porn. A vintage shopper dream with an echo of its former grandeur full of hidden treasures to discover. The Shell grotto was a particular highlight.

Owen I miss you dearly in Australia. Your sense of adventure, unending positivity and your ability to be in the know about every cultural event happening at any one moment.

I am so lucky to have you as a friend!

Almost a year ago the phenomenon @vanessalohcostume told me about this costume breakdown course at the
Creative Media Skills Institute at Pinewood studios in London.

Last week I was incredibly fortunate to attended the course thanks to the support of @potterculturaltrust without whom this adventure / career building opportunity would not have been possible.

A huge thanks to the special 4 people who wrote me incredible letters of support. I am not going to name you publicly so you don't get hounded by others for support letters because clearly you are exceptional at writing them.

Shout out to our lecturer for the week Rebecca Lesley.
And the other 3 awesome and talented women I got to learn with for the week, Melody, Jo & Sarah.

And a special thanks to Vanessa not only for telling me about this course, but for your ongoing belief in me, your support and your friendship. ❤️

I'm excited to get back to Aus re-build my breakdown kit and put some of these mad new art finishing skills to use. 🎨🖌️

Also maybe plant a couple to trees to try and counter balance my environmental debt #internationaltravel , ✈️🌳
