Dirtbike go.. braaaaaaap
π Tok and the Tube π
Oh boy.. my first (real) east coast race was a little rough...
Flew out to @brushymountainmotorsportspark for Battle of the Goats a few weeks ago to see how east coast races were and man I got whooped.
I could make a bunch of excuses about why I placed poorly. But, I simply didn't ride good enough! The terrain there, even when its dry, is so different to what we have out west and it took me too long to get comfortable. I would ride great, and then make a mistake that would cost me minutes each. (Last slide is a perfect recap of my race)
At the end of the day this led me to finishing 9th in B, my worst result so far this year. I had an amazing time though, the course was great and everything ran super smoothly once again with @ushardenduro
We got a few more rounds to go! Hopefully I can pull together some better results π«‘
Also, I want to thank @fastlifeministries for bringing my bike and junk out to these two rounds so I could fly in and out. Show him some love and come race the @pueblocos_urbanhardenduro that he's putting on at the end of September! It was seriously one of the best events of the season last year!
Thanks to @drinkhydropower for keeping me fueled as well π€

A little late on this one π
Wrapped up @moabhardenduro 2 weeks ago and had such a blast. Started off on Saturday with a quick half hour prologue and ended up in 2nd for a 1st B row start on Sunday.
Sundays start was rough, nearly the entire first lap I was all over the place and lost a lot of confidence for the race ahead. With 2 laps to go, I made some quick bike adjustments, put my head down, and pulled a mental tear off. Immediately felt better and quickly went from 5th to 3rd about halfway into the second lap. I stayed there the rest of the race and took home the last step on the podium in B.
So stoked to get on the box at this race, every year I come back here I see big leaps in my result and it's so cool to finally bring home some hardware.
Would love to come out of the gate feeling 100% rather than digging to find it. But, theres still lots of racing left to get that in order.
Now we head out east π€

Better late than never... right? π
Grinding Stone was a crazy one! I'll keep it short and sweet. Was not feeling the best on this terrain, I knew I wasn't before going into it. But it sucked actually living it. Couldn't get any good rhythm going and felt uncomfortable on the bike all weekend.
Race 1 I ended up 6th in B and 70 something overall. Wasn't too upset with it knowing Race 2 would be more suited to my style.
Race 2 definitely went better overall but I still was making a ton of really stupid mistakes and struggled to find a way to make it happen. Ended up 5th in B and 56th overall. Just barely missing Race 3.
Looking back, it definitely could've gone worse and I'm happy walking away with a 5th place and looking forward to getting back to my A game at @moabhardenduro π€

Beyond stoked with my weekend at the first round of the @ushardenduro series. Can't believe it but we came home with a P2 in the prologue and a P1 in the main π₯³ its been a long time coming and I truly didn't think it would happen at this race but we pulled it together π€
Sunday was a battle, full body cramps started only hour and a half into the race and got progressively worse to the point where I was truly having cramps across my entire body. Did everything I could out on track and in the pits to try and mitigate it but nothing seemed to help and I had to push on. Lots of it was slow, but I kept moving and managed to keep it on track until time expired (immediately went to the floor to stop the cramps π
). @dylanewing110 and I went back and forth plenty and it made for such a fun race. I'm sure it won't be the last time we do it π«‘.
Ended the weekend P1 in B class and 27 OA amateur.

Yo guys we got another Average Burro Adventures vid dropping tomorrow featuring @grayridesenduro , @tyleronthegas , an @burroblake ! We tackle a slick wet rocky trail and the bikes take a beating! Started the year off with a bang! New Years Day Hardscramble down in Stillwater, Oklahoma was a much better event than I expected. It was hard, it was long, it was muddy, and it was a great time. Made plenty of mistakes but brought home P1 in B class out of 18 and P4 OA out of 29
