Like other years, this event was held together on good will, and a growing pile of I.O.Us that’s now big enough for us to forego building a structure next year and just burn that instead. We’re extraordinarily privileged to know a growing community of generous, interesting and defiantly idiotic people who offer time or resources to make whatever this is happen - often year after year. Frog and Bone present: STUCK IN A RUT

What Ho! I say! You there! Are you quite aware that the Frog and Bone bonfire is occurring again this year? I know! Bloody good sport aye!

Yes indeed-y it’s that time of year again folks. You know the brief but still read carefully:
It’s a show.
It’s a bonfire.
It’s dinner.
It’s dancing.
It’s camping.
It’s the best night of your damn lives.

Deep in the arse end of Elizabethan England the Stage Coach is stuck in a rut, the drivers vanished, and none of the aristocrats on board have a clue on what to do. Let’s hope the locals have a better time working out what’s going on…

Costumes very much encouraged this year! The theme is Pleasantry and Peasantry, whether you want to look snippy and regal in ruffs or rough and ready with parsnips, it’s sack cloth and satins and a bloody good time.

As the flames of the bonfire are a flickering it’s time to head on over to Mrs Grievances Kitchen O’ Slop for your delectably authentic Elizabethan meal. Jellied pigs’ trotters available on request.

And then the ball! Blow the cobwebs out of your knee bends and get to dancing, prancing and romancing till the end of the night.
And as no weird little village would be complete without a local pub for local people you can try pressing some coins into the hands of our lovely tavern staff, who will whole heartedly serve you a pint of local swill (award winning ales from a local brewery) and if you’re on their good side, maybe even a tipple of the Queen’s own pick-me-up (espresso martini)

Now then, I know what you’re thinking… And yes you should give them back, it’s not your underwear to keep. But maybe wait until after the bonfire to return your pilfered panties! You’ll need the layers! It’s winter people get a grip! A grip on some warm clothes and sensible shoes and probably some waterproofs too. Our hoity-toity aristocrats may be unprepared but that’s no excuse for you to be! Make sure you’ve got somewhere warm and dry to sleep.

So pick your turnips, chide your butler and get ready for…
