PSA - It has come to my attention that the Art Handler is now a desired profession amongst the dating apps of swiping right but know when to spot the real ones versus the imposters.
In this light I’m sharing my blood, sweat, and tears from works about female desire and the Art handler.
From 2016–2018, I created a body of work centered on the figure of the art handler, using image, installation, and performance to explore masculinity, pop culture, and the female gaze.
Through collaborative photographic collage, the work examines labor and gender as overlapping performances, questioning what is visible or hidden, valued or overlooked.
Fine art Perspiration is set against the backdrop of Frieze Week, it highlights the often unseen workforce that supports the art world while reflecting on the temporary nature of these constructed space built, activated, and dismantled in rhythm with the market. Special thanks to Anthony Banks and Woody Mellor as poster boys, promoting their Art Handling venture.

During my time as a photography student in NYC from 2010 to 2013, I worked at the school’s library, spending hours quietly absorbing books, music, and imagery. I made zines, collected discarded transparency slides, and built photo collages.
The slides specifically created little worlds from found images of art history long before I’d ever scroll a feed for inspiration. The hum of the copier was my constant companion where pure silence feels jarring, but the soft ambient sounds of life nearby birdsong, an idling engines put me at ease. It’s probably why I’ve always have lived chosen to live in cities.
I’ve only recently felt myself emerging from the shell I’ve long inhabited inside my own head, whether from introversion, neurodivergence, or my deeply Piscean nature.

Slide 7 Still life of books photographed by the gallery and presented in Rome at Materia Gallery on landscape book exhibition in 2015.
