After a long hiatus, and a few ups and downs along the way, we are back with another series of events to usher in a huge new year for Foundations Techno. We have moved beyond our public sales model and transitioned Foundations into an invite-only event to uphold the integrity and dedication of our community. If you haven’t received an invitation to our private group yet, please reach out.

This May, we welcome Bigelow (HYPNO), whose style is driven by raw rhythm, rolling intensity, and dense layering. He uses gradual shifts in energy to lock the listener into the narrative he aims to convey.

Joining him is Lovefromsoph, a devoted artist who is defined by their distinct sound to the techno scene. Exploring gritty kicks and captivating grooves, Soph favors a raw, hypnotic sound. She pushes boundaries with a delicate blend of psytrance and techno, capturing tribal, atmospheric, and psychedelic elements at a higher, yet minimal, tempo.

With local support from Mozz, we cannot wait to welcome you back to the dance floor come May.

Once again we usher in another Foundations Techno event in 4 weeks time. The last two events have been something to behold and every single time we are blown away with the crowd.

The term “artist to watch” gets thrown around a lot these days, especially with the volume of new artists entering the scene with unprecedented access to tracks, information, and technology. Often, however, it’s a certain attitude that elevates the true heads above the groundswell of an ocean of new artists, and Connor Wall is unquestionably of this ilk.

Wall’s creative consistency has allowed him to shape his sound into the weighty, thunderous, and effective tracks you can hear on labels like Amsterdam’s Float Records, Glasgow’s Oscillator One, Treatment and Philippa Pacho’s Phorum.

Once again we usher in another Foundations Techno event, this time marking our 4th edition in just a few short months. Each gathering has been something to behold, and every single time we are blown away by the energy and commitment of the crowd.

We welcome our first international guest, Marcal in four weeks time. Marcal’s innovative fusion of captivating rhythms, cutting-edge sound design, and a storytelling approach makes him one of the most important figures in contemporary electronic music — a visionary who consistently challenges the boundaries of modern techno. His electrifying sets have ignited the floors of world-renowned clubs such as Berghain (Berlin), Fabric (London) along with many other celebrated stages across Europe and beyond, cementing his reputation on the global stage.

This Saturday we welcome Phia (fka - lovefromsoph) known for crafting hypnotic techno built on raw grooves, textured atmospheres, and subtle psychedelic tension. Moving between stripped-back rhythms and deep, emotive sound design, her sets and productions are driven by mood, movement, and carefully layered detail.

Alongside her solo work, she runs Syllabus Recordings, an independent platform supporting underground electronic artists through releases, live streams, and community-focused projects.

It has always been a dream of ours to play at a prestigious and well renowned festival, and now we get to do such a thing. And it probably wouldn’t be able to happen without the little community we have built in Newcastle this year and beyond.
