This is the longest reel I’ve ever done… but honestly, there was simply no other way to tell the story and give everyone the same feeling I had while filming it.

From my perspective behind the drone, I was on the edge of my seat the entire race. Every lap felt intense, every line choice mattered, and I wanted YOU to feel that same adrenaline and anticipation right alongside me.

@braydenlessler put on an absolutely EPIC performance at the @swapmotoraceseries last weekend. He came out of the first turn in 4th and systematically hunted down every rider ahead of him to take the win.

The passes were clean. Precise. Calculated.
No panic. No desperation. Just patience, confidence, and pure skill.

This was warrior energy from beginning to end, and getting to witness it all from above was unreal.

So proud to have this guy coaching my kids and pouring into the next generation of riders. 👊🔥 #moto #forgemxtraining #swapmotoraceseries #rideperris #coach

I’m a big advocate for standing all the way through turns or most of the way. But when the ruts are small and the track is smooth, it’s ok to sit early on the front of the seat with the leg high to get weight on the front wheel.

Most of my students think they’re getting forward enough but the truth is most of you need to get way further forward. Think vintage hood ornament 😂

Sliding back on the seat when getting on the gas is one of the most common mistakes I see at practice. The fix is to push on the outside peg. Yes outside peg pressure helps with traction but I’m more concerned with how it helps students stay forward. Pro tip: keep both feet on pegs and apply pressure to both pegs to stay on the front easier and get on the gas harder.

Basically you speed in a turn boils down to three pieces. 1) entry speed 2) where you let off the brakes 3) where you get back on the gas. There are a bunch of different things you can do outside of that but when talking about laptimes those are the three pieces. So here we are working on step one.

Big hit for a 50cc bike. All the jumping practice comes into play when you go big. Notice casing front wheel first 🥹

Real talk. Most of the techniques you’re being taught don’t work without combining with the right amount of gas. Sit forward in the turn but don’t gas? Front end tucks. Lean forward off a jump without gas? Endo. Remember you’re being taught how to ride better, and faster. If you don’t mix certain techniques with throttle things will be worse.

One of the biggest reasons for pushups at Forge is the two foot off dog paddle in ruts. If you’re suffering from this I urge you to practice standing through the ruts completely and sit earlier and earlier and then decide where you want to sit. A lot of what is happening is that when you sit early you’re putting weight into the bike making it drag through the rut without enough gas to carry you through. Standing keeps the bike light and you’re using your legs to manipulate the bike. So let’s make standing through ruts great again.

At forge we either want you to ride feet on pegs or if you put you leg out, put it all the way out. No dangling that leg.
