shot on film 🎞️ This is by far the most incredible experience I’ve ever had in the desert. We woke up at 3:30am to the most insane blizzard I’ve ever witnessed. The fact that it was in Kayenta was bazar having come from the Rocky Mountains 6 hours north. We drove to Monument Valley on a snow coated road with visibility only 10 feet in front of the car. It was a total white out. From there we met our incredible friend and guide Shaye from @monumentvalleysafari who drove us out to a trail that few have ever hiked to overlook the monuments for sunrise. The drive out was nearly impossible with 5 inches of snow atop the sand and no tire tracks to follow as he used instinct to find the trailhead. By Shaye’s incredible knowledge of the land he found the trailhead with no light and snow pouring down. We hiked up the snowy cliffs in the dark and falling snow. After an hour we reached the top just before sunrise and the clouds began to part. This scene was truly a miracle to behold. By the time we got back to the visitors center early afternoon the majority of the snow had melted. Looking back on this day I’m so grateful that I got to capture this miracle in the desert🖤
