#ThrowbackThursday In March 2003, #FLETC collaborated with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to complete Port 1702—a Mock Port of Entry Complex located in Glynco, Georgia.

Port 1702 is a vital training asset for officers and agents from CBP, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).

This simulated facility provides a dynamic, hands-on environment where students gain practical experience in real-world border enforcement scenarios. From vehicle inspections to traveler interactions, each exercise is designed to strengthen skills in border security, enforcement, and customer service.

Re-Entry After a Disaster: Safety First
Returning to your community after a disaster is a critical step—always wait for local authorities to confirm it’s safe. Even after the immediate danger passes, hazards like gas leaks, downed power lines, and contaminated water may remain.

Tips for Returning Home:
🏗️Follow official guidance and designated routes.
🏗️Let family and friends know you’re safe. Register at Red Cross Safe & Well.
🏗️Use flashlights outside first—gas leaks may be present.
🏗️Watch for dangerous animals and debris.
🏗️Clean everything that got wet; wear protective gear.
🏗️Don’t enter your home if you smell gas or see floodwater/fire damage.

Rebuilding:
🏗️Locate separated family members.
🏗️Check for injuries and seek medical help.
🏗️Contact your insurance agent and employer.
🏗️Apply for disaster assistance.

Recovery takes time and teamwork. Stay safe, stay informed, and support your community as you rebuild.
