Getting out of my Instagram hibernation...
Started helping out at the forge a few weeks ago and hoping to share more of my journey with you all once in a while.
Been spending all my time in the forge on the stones so far and I'm loving every second of it. Nobuya-sensei and my senpai Jesse are amazing teachers.

I'm not the greatest chef but I enjoy cooking nonetheless.
Today I went to the grocery next to my hostel in Kōchi and bought what I needed to make this Beef Tataki.
The myouga and Daikon sprouts are perfect to add a little "heat" to the dish
Bon appetit!

Today was my last day at Workshop Kurogane.
I'm very sad to leave but very happy of what I learned and accomplished there.
My instructor is definitely one of the coolest guy I ever met in Japan over the years.
Will definitely go back!

So today on my third day of training, I was planning to make a 240mm Gyuto and a 180mm Nakiri but ended up making a 330mm Gyuto which is more like a Sujihiki at this point and 220mm Nakiri.
How do you guys make sure you get the right length?
