(Almost) everything I ate in Japan 🍙🍤🍜🍵🍡🍣

From viral trends to hidden gems. I could write a whole novel about all the things I ate in Japan but for now, here’s the shortlist of my faves and where to find them:

🍣 Salmon Nigiri in Tsukijii Market
If you want melt in your mouth sushi, this is the place. Honestly can’t go wrong with anything in this market. Come hungry and try EVERYTHING.

🍜 Ramen Shosuke in Osaka
A recommendation from our hotel concierge and it did not disappoint. Ichiran gets a lot of hate for being a chain but I actually loved coming here solo after a long day of sightseeing.

🍤 Tendon Makino in Nishiki Market Kyoto
Hands down the best tempura I’ve had in my life. And that rice though?? Ugh. Worth the wait.

🥩 Gyukatsu Motomura in Shinjuku
My first time trying Wagyu and I think this was my favourite meal of the whole trip. My only regret was not getting the large portion cause I didn’t want it to end.

🍛 Tonkatsu Masamune in Akasaka
You know it’s gonna be good when you’re surrounded by locals. Come early cause the curry is a popular dish and sells out quick.

🧀 Udon Carbonara from Menchirashi
TikTok made me do this one. Was it worth the 40min wait? Yes. But make sure to order other items off the menu cause they make you preorder and I DEVOURED this in less than 5.

🍵 Matcha Tiramisu from Maccha House Kyoto
What matcha dreams are made of. Creamy, sweet but stronggg. If you’re sensitive to caffeine, don’t eat it as a late night snack (like I did).

🌸 Sakura Daifuku from Tsujiki Market
I didn’t know cherry blossom was a flavour until this moment and I was HOOKED. Paired with the softest mochi and the viral white strawberry.. *chefs kiss*.

🍙 Konbini Snacks
For sure one of my fave core mems of the trip is trying something new everyday from 7/11, Family Mart and Lawsons. Honorable mentions: the onigiris, fruit sandos, and frozen grapes (iykyk).

2024 Wrapped 🎀

2024 felt like the true definition of trust the process. I came into this year with a completely blank slate, not knowing what was ahead of me. And damn, what a year it’s been.

So many highlights, lowlights, bucket list goals, multiple side quests, new skills unlocked, core mems, and everything in between.

Here’s to the lessons learned, more intention with our time and energy, and to the chosen fam who come along for the ride. I see you, I appreciate you.

2025 is already looking pretty stacked and I can’t wait to bring the same me and same drive for love and life.
