This experience was a reminder that great education never stands still. Every conversation, every exercise, every artist in the room pushed the standard higher.

Facilitation Masterclass has LAUNCHED at the Redken Exchange.

This class has been 6 years of planning, testing and creating - through our experience training Redken Artists, and now we want to share these systems with all educators, presenters, and teachers.

Our first program hosted cosmetology instructors (hair, aesthetics, barbering), brand educators and corporate industry speakers.

We shared models to systemize and simplify your facilitation. Our goal is to help you understand and use the 5 Pillars of Impactful Presentations:

Physical Engagement
Emotional Engagement

How do I share the energy of these two days in words. Friendships were made, memories locked in. Learning, growth and super power amplification.

It is such an honor to be with these incredible Redken Artists from around the world and watch them evolve to the best version of themselves. Thank you for trusting us to help you grow.

I love…love the study of communication and facilitation. Connection is the key to making learning stick. We focused on how to make memorable impact, and identify the core message of your class. These things allow salon professionals attending our programs to anchor, understand, and use our hero Redken products and the supporting techniques.

Thank you to @judi_crawford for inviting me to facilitate a team building day with their incredible staff.

Today we discussed how to build bridges with team members that strengthen bonds and trust. They learned how to have tough conversations between themselves, clients and their personal relationships.

We also discussed the stories/assumptions we create about people and situations- learning that approaching without assumption, and instead, approaching with empathy - strengthen team culture.

I’m grateful for the opportunity and the openness of this group to share with me and each other.

Personal development is the key for company growth. More to come.

Fun fact about me:

In high school I got to 😏 take every math course twice EXCEPT geometry. I actually loved that class. At the time I didn’t realize it was the gateway to my career.

As a Redken Artist I can teach color and design, but design is my favorite. It just makes sense.

Some of my favorite clients walk in feeling like their hair has never quite cooperated with their vision.
Maybe it’s too straight, too thick, or grows in ways that make styling frustrating.
I love those moments when the right design unlocks what their hair was capable of all along.

In a few weeks I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned in the last 28 years as a designer and educator at Design Master Class in LA at the L’Oreal Pro Lab/Redken Exchange

I’m partnering with the yin to my yang, my design sister @mastery_adinadoss
