The flame itself already exists as a symbol, a powerful and recognizable form. Our role was to translate it into a 3 meter, epoxy luminous presence, giving it depth through light and structure.

De Vijver, Bosburcht Festival, June 2025 ✨

We loved creating this outdoor stage design. Open air, water nearby, light dancing across every surface.

As always, we played with shape and reflection, reusing objects you wouldn’t expect, letting materials find a new purpose in the landscape.

And the flames… they added that little something extra. 🔥
Warmth, movement, just the right amount of tension.

We can’t wait to be back on the castle grounds, with our toes in the sand at the Vijver.

Estranged Studio x de Wokkel

Some pieces stay with you forever. For us, that’s de Wokkel.

The installation that started it all, long before Estranged Studio had its name. At one point the working title of the studio was Wokkelicious Enterprise and honestly, we still love it.

What began as the first collaboration between @mannodragstra and @borisbalthasar quickly grew into the foundation of our shared vision. De Wokkel became our starting point for exploring the interplay of structure, reflection and light: an experiment in form and perception that evolved into a defining work of our studio.

It’s the piece that shaped our direction, our collaboration, and ultimately, our identity. And also, it's just fun to look at.

Once again we had the amazing opportunity to handle the art direction and creative production, and it felt like coming home.

This year we brought back a few beloved pieces, the Wokkel and the Nebula, but we also dove into creating brand-new, spectacular designs.
