Immersing myself in popular Kundiman love songs from the 1940s to immerse myself in my protagonist’s world.

This is a remake of the love song Lahat Ng Araw. Miguel Abelard’s Jr wrote the original in 1913. All the days, I will be loving you 😭😭😭💕💕💕

Finding inspiration in the pines. In my book, a character talks about his childhood growing up in the mountains in Japan, and how Baguio reminds him of his childhood home. I’m excited to revise this chapter adding the sights, sounds and smells of this mountain village. #writing #research #revising ✍🏼

And maybe fate also played her hand. My instructor, Gretna Wilkinson, was director of Red Bank Regional HS’s Creative Writing Program. We cross paths in 2017 when she accepted my daughter into the program. My daughter chose another route; but the fates it seemed had other plans for me.
