In the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty — That profound lyric from Bob Marley is something that sticks with me always, as a person living in a land full of vast opportunities here in the Western world. I’ve seen way too many young, talented people spend their days waiting for someone to drop success into their laps, while since a young child all I could ever think about was maximizing the abundance that is to be obtained through the opportunities that exist for us all to access.

As a Jamaican-born Canadian I have always shown reverence to my immediate and extended family for the efforts they’ve made to give me an opportunity to realize my potential in a land like this. And with that, years ago I faithfully started on the marathon that would be this journey towards discovering whoDemani Higgins really is.

I could produce a movie with all of the endless stories that collectively contributed to me becoming who I am today. At this point I celebrate the fact that they’ve allowed me to clearly understand both what I come from, and where I’m going. So if you know me, you know the concept of a Victory Lap is significant as it represents the end of the beginning — and marks the starting point for the legacy that I will leave behind.

So whether you’ve known me for all of my life, or if we met last week — you know something special is happening, and I want you to be a part of it. We will only ever achieve as much as we see and believe for ourselves, so at the very least — allow me to be a reminder that there is greatness within you, and it is up to you to bring it all to life.

We would like to thank all of the guests that celebrated our launch with us! Tickets sold out 3 times and we had an amazing group of ambitious, like-minded individuals celebrating together. The event was beautiful, and we want to thank @startwithhannah for hosting the event, and assisting us in putting it all together.

A huge thanks goes out to @canopytorontoyorkville and @dia_canopyto for providing an amazing atmosphere, along with delicious dinner meals that added the perfect touch to our celebration.
