I was planning to get dressed up and take nice pictures with this thing but these seem fine for now.
It’s strange to win one of these trophies when so much of the work to earn it took place well before I was born. Jim Henson had ideas. A lot of people believed in him. Countless people have helped create the creatures and worlds that he believed in and made a reality on screen.
Sesame Street has been recognized over and over and over again for their work towards making the world a little kinder with better understanding of all that’s in it.
Officially stepping into an internship with Disney™️ Muppets™️ ten years ago (to the exact month) seems an appropriate time to reflect.
To all those folks who entertained my enthusiasm for making puppets since the start of the 2000s, thank you. 🥰
This Emmy is a group effort far beyond season 50.
Thank you to those “near and far” who have helped lift me up to sit next to the greats.

From August to November of 2019 I worked on the construction of this giant Phoenix along with a whole team of folks dedicated to stitching, fabric dye, tons of fabric feathers, and being test puppeteers. @thebleepbloopshop constructed a beautiful light wire frame for the head and covered it with all its ripstop fabric detail. I had so much fun building the interior workings of the bird’s head, neck, and mouth movement. Big puppets are so much more than long, floppy poles. I love engineering contraptions that a performer can feel total control and nuance in performance. If you’re in Vietnam, say hi to the bird for me. 🔥🐦🔥🔥

In August of 2018 I was tasked with building a huge @lego dragon for a live puppet show of Lego Ninjago in Dubai. As a puppet builder, I’ve had to build numerous dragons for all kinds of stuff. Not sure if this one ever got rotated into shows. But it was one of the most enjoyable builds I’ve ever done. Luckily, I had @thebleepbloopshop helping me along the way. When people ask me “what’s your favorite thing you’ve built”…this is it. 🐉
For the past couple months @ricklyonpuppets invited me to help build some new elements for the London revival of @avenueqonstage . 3d printing, mechs, good old puppet building…It was an honor to assist in the magic! One of the new elements was Lucy getting a full set of LEGS. Please enjoy.
