pithivier has been flyin out the door i’m glad you all like it. also known as galette de rois, its almond cream filled inside sheets of puff pastry, with a nice decorative lacquer on it. (galette is round..with more waste..)
it’s been COLD but the skiing has been GREAT. come in for breads tomorrow 1/31. plain, fennel ses, polenta, baguettes) and bagels and 6oz cream cheese. and a formal welcome to Roy! he’s been slingin your sandwiches wednesdays and is a great addition to downhill bread. we’re workin on a few different things so stay tuned! next week solid b-fast menu🤌✌️-brooks, madeleine, alden, and roy

Breakfast is BACK baby! Starting Wednesday, November 5th, which also happens to be Downhill’s 4th anniversary. Come help us celebrate with a fresh line-up of sandwiches (plus some old favorites), pastry and @littleseedcoffee. This community is the reason we started our seasonal breakfast and in that spirit we are going donate a portion of the proceeds back to the community through the Have-a-Heart Food Pantry. Come party, eat food and help raise money to make sure our neighbors aren’t going hungry. See you 7-10 am next week through June.

have you been eating tomato sandwiches this summer..? welp i finally found a replacement for @freihofers_bakery country white…my brioche! (not a joke that was my go to bread of choice). doesn’t take much to make this simple incredible snack/lunch. bread, mayo, thick slices of @footprintfarm tomatoes, salt, pepper. that’s it. tomorrow 8/13: plain, fennel ses, polenta, brioche (which comes out around 10:30). see you all tomorrow 🍅

Temps are rising and with that comes the annual end to Wednesday morning breakfast. This week 6/4 will be our last until next winter. As always we will still be open for bread etc. on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout summer and fall. See you on the other side!

i’ve got good news and bad news: the bad news is i didn’t save money on car insurance by switching to Geico, the good news is breakfast sandos are back! trois cochon, 3 pigs. plus Little Seed coffee and hopefully other surprises. 7-10am starting this wed (1/22) through..may? come on in we can’t wait to see you✌️

After taking time off to adjust to life in our new small family, we’re returning to the heart of what we do—baking bread. Bread has always been a symbol of community, a simple but profound way to share warmth, comfort, and nourishment with those we love. Tomorrow, as we reopen our doors, we’re baking loaves that will help you create new memories and continue old traditions this Thanksgiving.

Doors open at 7 at Tandem with deliveries to the Middlebury Co-op, Lincoln General Store and Beaudry’s. There will be no pre-orders or reserves, but we’re baking at max capacity!
