The artists featured are Thomas Barron, Declan Byrne, Lorna Corrigan, Sinéad Fahey, Fergus Fitzgerald, Andrew Pike, Jason Turner.Lifework presents examples of each artist’s earliest artwork beside examples of recent artwork. This is intended to highlight and celebrate the many years they have been dedicated to developing their art practices.
Lifework is selected and curated by Dominic Thorpe. Dominic is an Irish artist, curator and writer who has a longstanding engagement with artists from the KCAT Studio. He has actively championed the excellence and significance of their work within the Irish cultural landscape.
dlr Arts Office will also present a showcase of inclusive artwork from around the County in Gallery Two. This is a sample of artwork from people of all ages and abilities. It shows a wide range of arts activity, highlighting the vibrant creativity that is an essential part of life in our local disability services, classrooms, and the wider community.
Alongside the exhibition, dlr Arts Office will run a programme of accompanying workshops and events, programmed by Moran Been-noon and Rayne Booth. This offers many opportunities for people of all ages to interact with the gallery in different ways, learning about and trying out different art-making techniques.

Born that way - A film about Care. And Love. And Patrick Lydon.
In a small wooden house in County Kilkenny, Ireland, Patrick Lydon’s life is ebbing away. Throughout his final year he reflects on an extraordinary life that took him from a budding career in rock journalism in America to trailblazing in Ireland with his wife, Gladys, the development of the radically inclusive Camphill Movement, sharing life in community with people of diverse needs, abilities, and backgrounds.
Patrick’s story calls forth the story of Camphill itself and articulates the impulse driving an approach to life struggling for survival in today’s consumerist climate. At a time when the world is in need of inspiration, Patrick and Gladys’ story is just the ticket.
Director: Éamon Little. Producer: Adrian McCarthy. Editor: Keith Walsh.
Living Colour is a rich and rewarding cinema experience and is, in itself, a celebration of what it is to be human. Living Colour is a film about an abstract watercolour painter who takes three and a half minutes to climb into a van, a chatterbox stone carver with the shakes, a woman who colours her dreams, a precision ink-drawer who stares into fires, a diminutive sage who makes satirical animations and the motley collective of other artists with special support needs with whom they share a studio. It is a charming, moving and hilarious reflection on the deeply human need to make art.
This observational documentary film explores the world of an unusual artists' collective in Callan, Co. Kilkenny, a studio which focuses on the artists' lives and extraordinary work. As it takes us farther into their unique world, the film builds into an often hilarious and intimate portrayal of a medley of charming and vibrant characters.
Director: Éamon Little. Producers: Adrian McCarthy and Martha O’Neill. Editor: Tadhg O’Sullivan.

Enjoy this little trailer of a video creation by the young people of Blackrock, DLR 🎪💫
The young people decided to call the full video "Circus Stars", and we concur! They are stars, who deserve all the opportunities and joy that life can offer them, with their full rights to safety and to art afforded to them.
This video was created as part of a Creative Ireland Project Award, with additional support from the CYSPC & DLR County Council Local Authority Integration Team. We are extremely grateful for this support.
Huge thanks also to @sasha_bratkovaphotography for the video, and to @upsadbhdown for all your energy assisting in this project.
Keep your eyes peeled for more of these young peoples' bright energy!
