On the 19th of November the 3rd-year international art students created an exhibition at the Campus Café in Vordingborg titled Natura Sensus.
The event consisted of the looped screenings of seven experimental short films, all depicting various aspects of nature. The students not only worked with the landscape of South Zealand but also brought the perspective of their home countries. They chose to not use traditional narratives, but instead invited the viewers to "feel" nature's beauty, decay and everything in between.
The screenings were set up in an entirely unique way which allowed viewers to move freely through the space and truly become one with the exhibition. People from all around town came to visit, and of course professors and students alike showed their support.
During the opening speech of the exhibition the students said: "In the films, you will find places where nature is gentle and poeticâbut also raw, wet, cold, or unsettling. We are not trying to explain nature. We are trying to sense it. And we invite you to sense it with us."
Congratulations to all the art students and everyone involved in this highly successful project! The organisers would like to thank everyone who visited the exhibition and hope they will carry a piece of it in their heart!
