The first time I touched the clay was in my art school - it was okay, nothing special. Next time it was at a workshop in Kazan, my second hometown - I hated it so much, I couldn’t make a thing out of the clay. I told myself to never try it again.

This is me, four years later, in my favourite studio in the world. This is the place that taught me so much, that made me meet so many beautiful people. The main thing that this studio taught me, is to listen to your heart and do what you like. It taught me not to lie to myself and go with the flow. You don’t have to fight to be happy. You just need to sit, relax and enjoy. Life will bring you to the place you supposed to be at.

For soda firing I always rely 50% on myself and 50% on ‘whatever happens,happens’. I didn’t expect to see these colours and these patterns, but here we go. This, I’d say, painting, reminds me either of a smiling face, or microbial art

This piece got its name just recently. It became a gift for my boss from my previous summer job - a camp for kids. I’ve been spending my summers at camps since I turned 9. Every summer, different camps, different roles, different countries. And at my very first camp, camp “Yunost’” (Youth) I learned how to leave and not to regret

“leaves” is not about sadness, but gratitude, it’s about closing a chapter and moving forward
