When people ask, “What have I done lately?” I would try to list all my accomplishments and things I consider successful. I never seem to answer with the quiet things, the little things no one knows about that I am proud of.
For instance, how I didn’t give up after my accident, how I pushed myself to get back to some normalcy even faster than the doctors predicted, how I exercised daily despite all the pain, how I put my pride aside and allowed others to help me, how I turned to God on the dark days, how I show up to my therapy sessions and I actually share my thoughts and allow myself to be vulnerable, how I prepared myself mentally to deal with my anesthesia phobia & agree to surgery. These things might not usually make it to my Instagram feed or earn a certificate, but they are proof of who I am. I am not just the success stories you occasionally see; I am really the girl who pushes hard and never gives up when no one is watching. This quiet version of me is who I am proud of today and who I celebrate just as the one the world remembers to applaud. I know you all were just as excited to see me back, doing what I love, and celebrating my recent campaign. Unfortunately, that very shoot was the decisive factor that made it impossible for me to continue in the pain I was experiencing because I deserve to do what I love without enduring this much pain.

This is indeed another pause, but guess what? I am still not behind.
HOW CAN I BE BEHIND IN LIFE WHEN IT’S MY LIFE?

To be honest, the team was unaware of my accident beforehand and had no idea this would be my first modeling job after it. I arrived on set with the sole purpose of completing the shoot, but halfway through, I was in terrible pain. The team noticed my discomfort and I decided to inform them, but I insisted that I would persevere! They even gave me some pain meds and even ensured someone assisted with making sure I had comfy slippers to wear after every single take. This gesture meant a lot! 🥺🙏🏾

Seeing the final result reminded me that while I may be able to pause, I cannot be stopped because I will never cease to believe in myself! I am so proud of this campaign!🥂🤍
