DEATH GRIP has won Best Nordic Film at the Copenhagen Headliner Film Festival 2025 🏆
We are both deeply grateful and absolutely thrilled – especially because we were nominated alongside some of the most accomplished and bold films we've seen in a long time. The Substance, Ghost Trail, Finders Keepers, Mother’s Baby, and many more – films that have screened at major international festivals and that continue to inspire us as filmmakers.

Thank you to the entire team behind DEATH GRIP – both in front of and behind the camera – and to CHFF for creating a space where debut films and established names can stand side by side.

In Battlemind, we plunged headfirst into the swirling depths of post-traumatic stress disorder. Choosing to confine the entire film to a single location was a deliberate choice, rooted in our desire to delve deeper into the emotional core of the characters. We aimed to accentuate the characters' mental state and inner turmoil while exploring how space can influence one’s state of mind.

This project marked my first collaboration alongside screenwriter @nisvinten, and from the moment we set sail, we had to navigate a steep learning curve with just a month to write the script and produce the film. Steering away from a traditional plot-driven narrative towards a character-focused portrayal was a challenge, but Nis proved to be the compass guiding us, and did an amazing job in writing, production, and set design.

My encounter with @asgermollsoe was a stroke of luck. We crossed paths a few months earlier when I stumbled upon him selling a microport. Little did I know that our paths would cross again when the time came to find a Director of Photography (DOP). Asger's dedication to the project was unwavering; he seamlessly transitioned from his day job to our cinematic adventure. I was struck by his easygoing nature; our collaborative energy on set was electric, and his expertise in framing and lighting was exceptional. Just don't forget to toss him a water bottle every now and then, as he tends to forget in the excitement.
