I have two insta accounts: This one is for unlearning Zionism. ✡️🇵🇸 My other account is for all things Grey Highlands, Ontario: @dave.in.grey

Today is Nakba Day, the annual commemoration of the forced displacement, dispossession and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in 1948.
During the Nakba, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were pushed from their ancestral homeland. Thousands were murdered. Zionist militias destroyed or depopulated hundreds Palestinian towns and villages. Millions of acres of Palestinian-owned land, properties, and community resources were seized and annexed by Israel.
The Nakba never ended, nor did the resistance against it. To this day, millions of Palestinians still live under military occupation - the largest stateless population in the world, by a landslide.
Trapped behind walls, barbed wire and checkpoints, they have no rights and no defense against Israeli bulldozers, bombs and missiles.
Many are victims of frequent violence and terror by messianic Zionist terrorists across the West Bank.
And over the last three years, Gaza was transformed from a concentration camp into a death camp. Tens of thousands slaughtered.Entire cities wiped completely off the map by Israeli bombs, dynamite and bulldozers.
As a Jew, I’m horrified. As a kid, I went to Zionist Day School, a Zionist Synagogue and Zionist summer camp.To be clear, it was just called “Jewish” education. No one ever used the word “Zionist”. But it was all focused on Israel. I was raised to believe that Judaism and “love for Israel” were synonymous.
I’ve since learned that there have always been Jewish voices speaking out against Zionism. From the early 1900s to this day there have been proud progressive Jews standing in defiance against the idea of a “Jewish State” and against the military occupation of Palestine.
So today, I stand with my Palestinian cousins as they commemorate Nakba Day. It’s more than a solemn reflection of the past. Nakba Day is a celebration of resistance and unwavering thirst for freedom.
I support Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. I support Right of Return.
One state, river to the sea, no walls.

Sadistic. The IDF has nothing to do with “Judaism”. The Israeli army is a disgrace. The Israeli government is a disgrace.
There is nothing kosher about killing children.Sickening.

Feeling fortunate to join 350 others tonight for the @winchevsky “Third Seder”, a re-interpretation of the Passover story and the Haggadah.
@winchevsky is celebrating their 100th anniversary this year!A century of bold progressive Judaism. ✡️ ❤️
Tonight’s proceedings are focussed on the liberation and oppression of ALL marginalized communities - including the millions of stateless Palestinians who have been living under brutal Zionist occupation every day of my life.#NotInMyName

When the Jewish state inevitably fails, they will have no one to blame but themselves. The decades-long Zionist policy of colonial expansionism, was a slow suicide.

Earlier this week, the Canadaland podcast released an episode that fabricated a statement from me and used that fabrication to frame a false narrative.
The episode concludes with an anecdote, allegedly from me, about protesters shouting antisemitic chants through a megaphone at a pro-Palestine event in Toronto organised by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM).
This anecdote is a lie. I’ve participated in many pro-Palestine events in Toronto including marches organized by PYM. Not once have I witnessed the slightest hint of antisemitism by the organizers, nor the attendees. The fabricated anecdote is an intentional conflation of two unrelated stories.
I asked Canadaland to retract the statement, but they chose to dig in their heels by posting a feigned “correction” that doubled-down on the falsehood.
This isn’t a technical error. It’s an attempt to smear and malign the pro-Palestine movement and to spread an Islamophobic stereotype. It reveals a complete disregard of the most basic journalistic standards.

On Monday, Toronto’s Palestinian community will finally see their flag raised at City Hall - a historic event that should have happened decades ago.
On cue, the Zionist community is losing their shit and doing whatever they can to cancel the event.
“Mayor Chow, this is not inclusion. It is a glorification of violence… We have contacted the City of Toronto’s Chief of Protocol to demand that the event be cancelled. We urge all concerned citizens to follow suit.”
“Glorification of violence”? Are you kidding me? What about the blue and white flag that was raised on May 1st? The flag of a country that has massacred tens of thousands of civilians in Gaza. The flag of country that has been accused of Genocide by the world’s largest humanitarian organizations. The flag of a country that continues to torment, displace and murder Palestinians in the West Bank. The flag of a country whose leader literally can't visit Canada without being arrested due to an active warrant from the International Criminal Court for war crimes.
Here's the kicker: For 77 years, Zionist groups have said “We want peace, but they don’t”, “We want to share the land, but they don’t”, “We believe in two states, but they don’t.”
But if they believe in “sharing” the land, why are they so scared of a Palestinian flag? The answer is simple: Because they don’t want to share the land - and they never have. The only thing they support is further displacement and erasure.
This bullshit, racist, murderous double speak must be called out and challenged.
And, of course, they never miss an opportunity to perpetuate racist Islamophobic caricatures of Palestinians, presenting them all as terrorists rather than victims of a violent occupation.
The goal of the Zionist project is clear: One enthonational Jewish state, from the River to the Sea. At any cost. It's racist, supremacist and expansionist.
Here are four things you can do:
1) Attend the flag raising ceremony on Monday morning, 9am.
2) Proudly post photos of the event. Show your solidarity. ✊
3) Email B'nai Brith and tell them how you feel. (info@bnaibrith.ca, media@bnaibrith.ca, toronto@bnaibrith.ca)

From the brave folks at @cjnvgram
“The olive harvest is a powerful moment of sumud (steadfastness), for Palestinian farmers and families. It is a material and symbolic act of resistance to land theft and expulsion and an affirmation of Palestinian livelihood and culture. It is also a time of increased settler-state violence, where settlers and army violently try to keep Palestinians from reaching their ancestral lands and harvesting their olives.
Hear from activists who are on-the-ground in the West Bank right now with CJNV supporting Palestinian farmers and families during the Olive Harvest. Acts of coresistance like this are incredibly important as the Israel continues to escalate its crackdown on Palestinian life and on the activities of international solidarity activists.
Sydney Levy, a member of our Advisory Committee who is part of our current cohort of olive harvesters, recently wrote, “every plot of land harvested is a plot of land not abandoned to the Israeli occupation.”
The work of communicating our experiences and the stories of our Palestinian partners is essential to building a bigger and stronger movement for justice.
Throughout the 10 years that CJNV has been doing this work, we have been asked by our partners to share and amplify their stories – to use the power and privilege we have to bring attention to the reality on the ground, to shift hearts and minds through storytelling, and to mobilize people to take action to end Israeli apartheid, occupation, and ethnic cleansing.
Please join us on Tuesday, November 4th.”
