We ♥️ our TG1 coaches 😍

For our next coach feature, let's check in with our Head Coach, Dan! Dan the man! With the plan! When we say this guy does it all, we really mean this guy does it aaaall. 😎 Tryouts are fast approaching and Dan has been hard at work. Show him a lil' love if you see him around the gym!

- Tell us about you!
Hi, I’m Dan and I’m from Evergreen, CO. I grew up as a classic Colorado kid, competing in freeride skiing and baseball, with a passion for mountaineering, mountain biking, and anything outside. I got into climbing in 2017 as a natural extension of mountaineering. In 2019, I moved to Bozeman, MT, and began seriously training for running, backcountry skiing, and climbing. Since then, I’ve completed lots of ultra-marathons (both sanctioned and not), skied some of the biggest lines in the country, and climbed hard across the western U.S. I love blending my sports and training to have big multi-activity days and adventures. I’m now back in Colorado and excited to keep pushing my fitness and sport goals.

- What’s your current goal outside?
I had surgery in February and I’m still building bone and muscle tolerance in my left leg. So my current goal is to get back into competing shape for ultra-running next year. Once I get there all my other sports will fall into line.

- What’s your go-to comfort meal?
Either an entire pizza at 11pm or “marry-me chicken pasta” in the dutch oven.

- When you’re not rock climbing, what are you doing?
Running, skiing, biking, cycling, or weight-lifting. Or attempting to complete my degree.

- What album do you currently have on repeat?
I’m not really an albums guy. But the songs I currently have on repeat are: Flapjack by Opiuo, when sunday comes around by Marlon Funaki, Amends by Marlon Funaki, and No Rain, No Flowers by the Black Keys.

- What animal(real or fictional) are you riding into battle?
Real: Two beavers, one per foot. Slowly grinding down the battle field.
Fictional: An F-150 size beaver.

Dan. You're the man. Thanks for all you do. We can't wait to see what you have in store for these climbers at tryouts!

Hello friends, old and new. It’s been over 3 years since I last had Instagram; I took the hiatus for personal reasons and to truly get away. But now, I finally feel ready to share my adventures and life with the world.

I couldn’t be more grateful for all the people, experiences, and places I’ve come to know and love.

This post is a very brief synopsis of 2023 thus far - I simply don’t have the space to share it all. If you’ve known me for any or all of these adventures, especially the ones not listed, thank you for everything!

I’ve had the joy of running, skiing, and climbing all across the west this year. Spending weeks in Utah, the Tetons, Colorado, and the ranges of Montana. If you’d like more detail on what I’ve been up to, check out my Strava.

I can’t wait for this winter and what’s to come!!
