Match says that gay men are a growing customer base for online dating; they are "a demographic that often uses multiple dating platforms and stays on apps for longer periods of time, according to Match’s internal research."

Because of the investment, Match will phase out Archer, a dating app launched in 2023 geared towards queer men, and concentrate on Sniffies. The site will still be run independently by Chief Executive Officer Blake Gallagher, who told Bloomberg that this will allow Sniffies to "'move faster on the things our users have been asking for,' including stronger trust and safety, expansive network growth, and continued product improvements."
