Our 2022.12 release update includes a lot of new features and as always new camera integrations like the new Sony FR7. Itโs the worldโs first pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera to combine a full-frame image sensor, an interchangeable lens design, and remote shooting functionality.

Itโs often cameras and lenses that get all the attention, but itโs the infrastructure around them that can make all the difference.
โจCyanView has become part of how we can support more complex cinematic and multi-camera productions at Shoot Blue.
CyanView is a camera-agnostic remote camera control system, allowing anything from a single camera to large multi-camera setups to be monitored and controlled from a central point.
For DOPs and DITs, it provides a practical way to maintain consistency across multiple cameras, particularly when theyโre mounted on cranes, vehicles, or hard-to-reach rigging positions. Itโs equally at home with ARRI, Sony VENICE, the Sony FX series, and Blackmagic cinema cameras, making it well suited to mixed camera packages.
Combined with appropriate connectivity and infrastructure, it opens up the possibility of operating a fully wireless camera department, reducing rigging complexity and increasing flexibility where that workflow makes sense.
CyanView also offers some particularly useful functionality, including direct iris control on Sony FX6 and FX9 cameras with Sony E-mount lenses, without the need for external lens motors. Itโs complemented by CyanView Dashboard, a browser-based interface for camera monitoring and control from a desktop, tablet or phone.

D-Cinema cameras require more than typical system cameras because they were not designed to be painted live...but thatโs only the beginning of the story.
Let's take the #SonyFX9 for example. This camera became really popular for capturing Live Cinematic Multicam Productions such as concerts, operas, fashion shows - in fact itโs maybe THE camera for those kind of scenarios.
On these productions, a wide range of lenses are often used, from expensive cine zooms to prime lenses with Tilta motors, professional B4 2/3" lenses or even box lenses.
Not all of these can be directly connected and controlled by the FX9, but with the Cyanview RIO and RIO Live modules you get full lens control capability in addition to camera shading.
Here are three photo setups often used by PLANI
* Sony FX9 with Fujinon Cabrio ZK25-300mm PL lens
* Sony FX9 with Fujinon Duvo HZK 25-1000mm PL lens
