RIP Yusuke. For more than fifteen years you came to watch us play, regardless of rain, wind, snow or scorching summer days. Always chill. Always supportive. We‘ll see you on the big pitch up in the sky. 🙏⚽️🙏

🚨 Excited to share a slightly belated but very official 2025 recap from the Chinatown Soccer Club’s comms team, now that everyone is firmly back in front of their devices and, fingers crossed, back on the pitch.
⚽ We kicked off the year with a feature in the excellent Extra Time magazine and celebrated the release of the issue with a launch event / exhibition at Cafe Chrystie in the East Village.
⚽ We gave Steve Bracknall, assistant manager at Royal Oak FC and BBC podcast host, his first taste of American football.
⚽ We celebrated the 75th birthday (yes, you read that right) of our longtime member and spiritual leader King “Kang” Chu who continues to play three times per week alongside teammates barely a third of his age.
⚽ We started working on a new website to showcase all of the partnerships, publications and events we brought to life over the course of the past two decades. Coming any day now. Promise.
⚽ We played in a rooftop tournament on the Lower East Side and another one on the Williamsburg waterfront during the summer. Soccer jock stuff can be a drag but these two were actually a lot of fun.
⚽ We sent a CSC delegation to take part in “Journey to the East: An Explorative Grassroots Football Journey in China” which included friendly matches in Beijing and a screening of the documentary “Broken Femur - The Saga of Chinatown Soccer Club” on a rooftop in Shanghai.
⚽ We welcomed new members from our larger New York’ community to the club, keeping the squad fresh more than 20 years after our first session in Chinatown.
⚽ We met up to play more that 125 times over the course of 2025 which comes out to an average of well over 2 sessions per week in the rain, snow, heat and whatever else New York City decided to throw at us.
⚽ We celebrated the season at our annual holiday party and awards banquet, giving out honors such as the Fashion Forward Awards, Rookie of the Year and, of course, Goal of the Season.
🚀 This just in but 2026 is apparently a World Cup year! Luckily we got a few things cooking already. See you on the pitch!
