Repost @middleeasteye • The use of sexual violence by Israeli soldiers and settlers has been thrown in the spotlight after a New York Times column brought long-term claims into the mainstream US media.
Critics have accused the Times of framing individual abuses as a systemic Israeli problem. Today's episode of MEE Live examines that distinction: isolated incidents, or a pattern of abuse?
The Ramallah-based Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counselling has documented the use of sexual violence to pressure Palestinian women and girls out of their homes in the West Bank.
MEE Live host Mathilda Mallinson speaks to the Centre's Kifaya Khraim about their findings.

The Palestine Coalition calls on Metropolitan Police chief Mark Rowley to publicly retract the false claims made against the Palestine movement in the lead up to the Nakba 78 march.
We will not be silenced or criminalised for standing with Palestine.

Repost @adele.shoko • Anti-Zionist protesters marched through Jerusalem, in opposition to the far-right Flag march. We stood in solidarity with Jerusalemite Palestinians and demanded an end to the Zionist occupation of the city.
The protest, as always, was brutally suppressed by the Israeli police, one person was arrested and later released.

Language is never neutral. Language carries history, power, and perspective. When we say “Middle East,” we’re not actually describing geography; we’re repeating a colonial script that placed Europe at the center of the world. Europe is NOT the centre of the world.
P.S: don’t go by the map used in this post. Egypt is often added in the ‘Middle East’ whilst it’s in North Africa, showing how Western powers clumped together nations without understanding the region at all.
say NO to Middle East ❌
Maybe time to change names, eh?

Do it out of principe, to make a point and to truly truly decolonize ourselves. Do it for the sake of people YOU report on.Let’s go ✊🏽

🚨BOYCOTT EUROVISION 2026🚨
This weekend, respect the call from Palestinians and boycott Eurovision.
Refuse to watch or attend screenings while Eurovision gives Israel a platform to cover up its genocide, military occupation and apartheid.
The European Broadcasting Union’s refusal to listen to Palestinians means the contest is in crisis. 5 countries have withdrawn from this year’s competition.
1000+ artists, 72 former Eurovision contestants, dozens of queer organisations, Amnesty International and UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese have all joined calls for Israel’s exclusion.
The British contestant, Sam Battle (Look Mum No Computer) has a choice.
He can help prop up an event that stands condemned for whitewashing crimes against humanity, or he can do the right thing and withdraw.
Israel’s continued participation in Eurovision allows it to cover up its crimes of genocide and apartheid. Join the Palestinian-led boycott and refuse to watch it or attend a screening this weekend!
Take Action:
1) This weekend, boycott Eurovision. Don’t watch or attend a screening.
2) Join the 17,000+ people who have signed our petition calling on Sam Battle to withdraw (link in our bio)

A song from Gaza. A vote beyond the Eurovision contest. Not to win, but for justice and freedom, and an end to Israel’s ongoing genocide, illegal occupation, siege, and destruction of Palestinian cultural heritage.
Vote by sharing this song, as an act of solidarity with Palestine. Culture and identity are fundamental human rights.
