Truly the honour of a lifetime to work with @feistmusic @philipweinrobe and this beautiful group of musicians on Living With It.
Here’s a little piece on how this came to be.
A huge gift to have the brilliant @counterglance in studio with her camera to capture these moments.
Special thanks to @rlackritz for recording Feist, and for all of the help.

in 2021 we were sitting on ariel’s couch having a conversation of far reaching ideas for a genre bending live show based in the world of her forthcoming record ‘xo skeleton’, and then from the ground up actually turned it into a live show, and we’ve been touring it in expandable and contractable configurations across north america since the fall. i have lived inside this record and the visual conceptualization of it for the last 3 years and it has been one of the most creatively gratifying experiences i’ve ever had. we have a few more shows left on the scaled down yet no less impactful 8-song opener set version and then @laforceband moves into summer festivals. here are some of the visuals we developed for the live projections & some documentation of it - a small window into this project’s thematic obsessions of grief, mortality, motherhood and the stereotypes surrounding it, the body as a site of knowledge and reclamation, the environmental rhythms of birth, aging and death, and the increasing precarity of life on our damaged planet. big thank you to the incredible team on this project.

i shot the ‘hurts like hell’ @charcorn recording sessions last winter @sugarmntn studio in brooklyn with @philipweinrobe and this lovely band comprising of @palehound @bridgetkearneymusic @young_gumby @moon_mullins__ and the record is now out. i have loved documenting the process from it’s inception and being a part of the album campaign taking shape. these videos are a part of a larger series about the making of ‘hurts like hell’, and the photos from the recording session are in the vinyl packaging. it’s truly such a beautiful record and i highly recommend listening over and over as i have.
