Corey

Itβs February, which means I turn 40 this month.
As I take stock of my life, what I feel most is gratitude. Gratitude for the stories behind me and the opportunities ahead. Iβm grateful to have my feet on the ground, and to hold a deeply rooted belief that if I can dream it up, I can make it happen.
And itβs pretty cool that at 40, I truly feel like a woman. I feel deeply connected to my child self - that precocious little kid who was so eager to grow up. Somewhere along the way, Iβve finally melded these versions of myself into an adult form that feels proud of where Iβve been and who Iβve become. What more could I ask for?
Over the last six months, as this milestone has approached, Iβve been thinking about our cultural obsession with turning 40. If youβre lucky, I think βover the hillβ means youβve done the work and now itβs time to reap the rewards. There will always be more work to do, of course, but I see this next chapter as a kind of rebirth. Not a starting over, but a continuation - one where I get to carry forward the lessons and wisdom Iβve earned so far.
With a sense of serenity, gratitude and fulfillment Iβm looking forward to making the most of what this life has to offer. And Iβm genuinely excited to see what the landscape looks like on the other side of the hill.
Thank you to my dear friend Corey for these photos. I am actually super awkward and uncomfortable in front of the camera and wonβt let most people take a photo of meβ¦ π«£ There are a select few that I feel truly safe with to be myself, be vulnerable and risk exposure of fracture lines. It might not be that deep for everyone, but that is how it feels for me to stand in front of the camera, which might be why I connect so well with clients who feel similarly awkward! We actually spent the whole day playing together and I feel a little overwhelmed with how many photos I truly love! So weβre gonna start here with the film because film is always the best π

Spent the weekend playing 27 holes a day in South Carolina. 81 holes over 3 days. It was a lot of golf but a lot of fun.
