I already knew a year before the album was finished what direction it was heading in and how I wanted the cover art to look.

I'm a perfectionist and want everything to feel as authentic as possible, which is why only real skulls would do...

I was able to obtain them through an English curio dealer.

But I also wanted to bring some life into the image and felt that dried flowers would be the perfect addition.

I went to various flower shops, bought all kinds of flowers, and dried them at home.

Together with my girlfriend and all my camera gear, we went deep into the forest to photograph the Memento Mori ritual.

We carefully arranged everything on the forest floor, and my girlfriend helped me decorate and position everything exactly the way I envisioned it.

I’m truly grateful for how enthusiastically she always supports my projects, even if this kind of music and aesthetic is not necessarily her personal taste.

“Aura” is a manifestation of inner visions shaped by nature, silence, and the unseen forces that dwell beyond human perception. This piece captures fragments of solitude, decay, and transcendence — a reflection of the eternal cycle between life and dissolution. Through “Aura”, I attempt to channel the spirit of nature — its haunting presence, its silent strength, and its relentless force — into both sound and image.

All music, recordings, and visual material were created and captured by Alvar. Every sound and every image is rooted in a deep connection to the natural world, seeking to preserve its raw power, its stillness, and its unforgiving beauty.

Conjuring is a one-man atmospheric black metal project from the Swiss mountains. The music combines melancholic tremolo passages, immersive atmospheres, and dynamic songwriting that balances fragility and intensity. The project draws inspiration from vast landscapes, shifting seasons, fading light, and the quiet presence of ancient spirits.

The upcoming fourth album, "Memento Mori", - is Conjuring’s most mature work to date. Across six carefully crafted compositions, the album explores themes of mortality, transience, and spiritual awakening, embracing darkness and reverence as interconnected aspects of existence.

"Memento Mori" was mixed and mastered at Klangschmiede Studio E, achieving greater clarity while preserving its raw emotional depth and atmospheric quality.
Conjuring stands as a reflection of devotion — to Black Metal, to nature, and to the eternal cycle of life and death.

"Memento Mori" will be released on CD / Digital formats on May 8.
An LP edition may follow later this year depending on demand.
