Nothing beats being properly back out on the water.

One of the team enjoyed good sailing conditions in Spain last week, with the boat doing exactly what it should.

Good preparation and reliable systems quietly make all the difference once you are underway.

That confidence onboard is always the goal.

We’ve been working more and more with @Hamma X-Strand wire recently.

It’s a really interesting option for standing rigging, offering strong, consistent performance and a great alternative to traditional wire setups.

It’s not the right choice for every boat, and that’s always how we approach things. The focus is on what works best for how you use your boat, not just what’s new or different.

At the moment, we’re the only business in the East of England regularly working with X-Strand, so if it’s something you’re curious about or you’re thinking about replacing your rigging, we’re happy to talk it through.

Take a look at our website or drop us a message to find out more. www.compassrigging.com

Not every part of sailing is about maintenance schedules, inspections or hardware.

Sometimes it is simply moments like this.

Sunrise this week off the Spanish coast, captured by one of the team while out on the water.

A good reminder of why preparation, reliability and confidence in your boat matter so much once you are offshore.

Fair winds from Compass Rigging.

We’re really pleased to be supporting the EAORA series this season, including the upcoming RORC North Sea Race.

Wishing all competitors the very best ahead of the race and hoping for fair winds and safe sailing all round.

Offshore events like this are a great reminder of how important preparation and reliable equipment are before heading offshore.

We’ll be following the race closely tomorrow ⚓

This is a good example of something that’s easy to miss.

Wear like this builds up slowly over time, and often isn’t spotted until it becomes a bigger issue.

Catching it early makes all the difference.

If you’re unsure what condition your rig is in, it’s always worth having it checked.

These are on almost every yacht… but rarely get serviced.

@spinlockhq XAS clutches do a lot of work, and over time, they wear, which can lead to slipping or reduced holding power.

We’d usually recommend servicing every 3 years, depending on use.

A small job that can make a big difference.

Getting your boat in the water is one thing… keeping everything running properly is another.

Regular checks and small maintenance tasks make a big difference over the season.

It’s often the simple things that get missed, and they’re usually the ones that cause problems later on.

If you’d like a bit of support this season, we’re here to help.

A recent mast un-stepping job.

While a lot can be checked with the mast up, taking it down gives a much clearer picture of what is really going on.
It’s often at this stage that hidden wear or early issues start to show.

Not every boat needs this level of work, but when it’s needed, it makes all the difference.

If you’re planning work this season, now’s the time to get booked in.

Before you head out this season, it’s worth taking a proper look at your rig.

We’re already seeing a few issues on boats returning to the water that could have been caught earlier. Things like worn lines, tired fittings, or small signs of movement that are easy to miss.

A quick check now can save a lot of hassle later.

If you’re not sure what to look for, we’re always happy to help.

It’s always good to hear it from the people we work with.

We were recently featured in the Woodbridge Cruising Club newsletter, highlighting the work we’re doing and the support we’re offering to local boat owners.

“Aaron provided a friendly, efficient and professional service… with excellent and pragmatic advice.”

For us, it’s not just about the work itself; it’s about helping owners make informed decisions and avoid problems down the line.

We’re proud to be supporting the local sailing community and working alongside clubs like WCC.

If you’d like to find out more about what we do, visit our website or get in touch.
