Golden Spectra: An Exploration of Light and Vitality

Golden Spectra unfolds as an inquiry into the sensorial and psychological dimensions of light-its capacity to embody vitality, transcendence, and renewal.
Anchored in the charged resonance of yellow, the exhibition examines how colour operates as both an optical and emotional register.
Historically associated with illumination and divinity-from the gilded halos of medieval iconography to Van Gogh’s incandescent skies- yellow here is recast through Coady’s distinctive visual language as a contemporary signifier of energy and endurance.
Within this body of work, Coady extends her ongoing engagement with the pill form, a motif through which she probes the aestheties of control, regulation, and the pursuit of composure.
In Golden Spectra, the pill becomes a vessel of light itself-infused with the luminous pairing of yellow and white. Some compositions adhere to the disciplined order of the pharmaceutical grid, recalling systems of dosage and the visual rhetorie of precision. Others resist that strueture: capsules cluster, tilt, and spill, forming unruly constellations that evoke the organic irregularity of lived experience. Through this oscillation between order and release, Coady articulates a subtle dialectie between containment and vitality, the mechanical and the human.
The chromatie dialogue between yellow and white underpins the exhibition’s spatial and conceptual rhythm. Yellow radiates with warmth, optimism, and sensory intensity; white offers its counterbalance-silence, restraint, and breath. Their interplay suggests both the pulse and the pause of being, a eyelical movement between illumination and stillness. In this sense, colour functions less as surface than as substance: a living medium through which energy circulates and consciousness flickers.
