An exploration of Cryo & Cryo Fresh hops 🍃

We released 2 lovely brand new TIPA's, Yeah Tea & Yeah Bro, last week, one using a blend of Ceylon tea excuding notes of bright lemon citrus, peach and spiced wood and the other a classic blend of Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin, relishing in tropical dankness and elevated fruit forward notes. 🇳🇿 Hooked On Aotearoa | DDH IPA | 7% 🇳🇿

Pronounced ‘ow-tear-roh-ah’, the latest in our Hooked On series of Double Dry Hopped IPAs takes us to New Zealand and the landscape that inspired our Hooked On Aotearoa DDH IPA.

First up is Eggers Special, a very unique Riwaka hop variant from New Zealand's Eggers, a niche hop grower specialising in Riwaka. This hop variant is known for its deeply fruity aroma - pineapple, lime, grapefruit and passion fruit. We've paired this with the more usual Riwaka varietal which gives flavours and aroma of berries, an incredible peachiness, guava, and a suplhur-y, herbal, almost oregano-like pepperiness.

With the addition of modern NZ favourites Motueka & Nelson, expect all the usual dank flavours we pack into a hazy DDH IPA, spanning the spectrum from white grape and gooseberry, to sticky overripe pineapple.

☕🖤🍻 Persistence Is Utile VIII | 11% | Imperial Stout x @lot61coffee ☕🖤🍻

For our 8th edition of Persistence Is Utile sees us team up with coffee masters, LOT61 from Amsterdam. We’ve incorporated 40kg of Yunnan Red Sparrow beans which underwent a thermal shock process which sees coffee cherries undergo high heat then immediate cold cooling. The dramatic temperature shifts create a ‘stress response’ in the bean, resulting in intense, complex and fruit forward notes.

This is then seamlessly blended with a heavy foundation of chocolate and Munich malt, intensifying the decadent experience of PIU while maintaining a remarkably clean, thick, and smooth mouthfeel. Cacao nibs and vanilla are added to temper any sharpness from the coffee, culminating in a drinking experience defined by luxury and profound richness.

We’re excited to announce two new management roles at Cloudwater as we bid goodbye to a colleague in sales heading off to pastures new, and look to add a new role to our existing production team 🌟

Our new Head Brewer role seeks to add a person of phenomenal capability to the wealth of passion and experience in our production team, building on the capabilities of our existing production team and trio of brewery managers. We’ve had some incredible times at Cloudwater over the past 11 years, but we’re looking for someone to lead from the very top of Production to help us reach to higher heights, putting elevated efforts into our pursuit of the highest levels of consumer satisfaction and world-class quality and consistency.

We’re casting a wide net as we look to hire a for a single role in sales from one of two routes forward — one route is suited to an experienced Sales Team Manager with a strong track record, and the other builds strategy and top-level leadership on top of team management responsibilities into a Head of Sales role. We’ll take the best applicants into interview and hire whoever we think brings us just what we need to get our beer into customers hands through the best trade accounts.
